Latest addition to the replacement rotor market...
http://www.vividracing.com/blog/anno...e-996-and-997/
Two things of note:
These are floaring with the McLaren hardware = low/no noise!
22# vs. OEM 25#... That's a decent savings on rotating mass when you add all four corners...
Dan needs to get us a price on these, as I believe they'll be a big hit!

On the day my replacement front rotors arrive..... Oh well, once these are gone good to know there is an alternative that can replace stock keeping the rest of the stock setup the same (if I understand correctly).

<drool> Mike, those look perfect! Without question the quality will be OEM or better and no worries about Brembo disappearing from the marketplace. Now if they only worked with the 996TT 2piston calipers! I have not run out of brakes yet using Pagid yellows, so I can't really justify the cost of the 3 piston caliper upgrade. Saving 3 lbs/corner would be so nice...

FYI, the rear 2-piece discs in 350x28 will be out very soon, they are just being finished up. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to do the OE rear size of 330x28 in a 2-piece floating configuration while retaining the parking brake.
These discs use our very newest 72-vane design and are a great upgrade.
Weight Summary:
OEM 350x34mm front: 25.6 lbs
Brembo 2-piece 350x34 front: 22.3 lbs
OEM 350x28mm rear: 21.9 lbs
Brembo 2-piece 350x28 rear: 16.9 lbs
Here is model applicability (there are 2 different front discs):
996TT equipped with 6-piston GT3 front calipers (front)
996TT with PCCB (front and rear)
996GT3 (front)
996GT3 with PCCB (front and rear)
996GT2 with PCCB (front and rear)
997TT iron disc (front and rear)
997GT3 iron disc (front and rear)
997GT3RS iron disc (front and rear)
For the 996TT and GT3, of course, those that have upgraded the rear to use the 997TT 350mm rear disc are able to use our rear discs as well.
We will soon have solutions for the 997TT, GT2, GT3, GT3RS, and Carrera GT PCCB equipped cars as well.

Mark, what's the price point for a pair of the front 350x34mm 2-piece rotors to fit the 6 piston GT3 calipers? Non floating hat please. And availability date? Thanks.
Did I just read that the Brembos are drilled, not slotted. Drilled rotors crack too soon.
I have heard that AP Racing makes 2 piece slotted 350mm rotors that have different metallurgical properties that give added durability? Steve Weiner of Rennsport tipped me off too this.

These are all floating disc, there are no non-floating versions. However, these are unlike the versions we do for the cup car that use a different type of hardware and are not appropriate for street use. These will have no noise issues.
The fronts just started shipping, so vendors should have them available almost immediately. I'll have to check on the prices tomorrow.

The retail price for the discs is $1895 per pair.
FYI, our distributor Race Technologies will be offering a kit for the rear of the 996TT and 996GT3 with spacers and bolts and the 350x28mm disc assemblies for $1995 (using the original rear calipers). Of course this is only to be used with the 350mm/6-piston front upgrade.

Is there any chance that slotted rotors that replace stock 996TT fronts will become available? (Wish Performance Friction would read this thread also! )

The Brembo drilled rotors will hold up much better than the OEM drilled rotors.
It's a better quality disc, better metallurgy.
Since there are no plans to make a rear 2pc. disc I asked them if they could make sure the fronts are drilled to be able to match the rear that we will be stuck with.
According to Brembo, drilled rotors should not be a problem as long as you pay attention to the pad compound, making sure you do not use a pad that is very aggressive to the disc, and keep an eye on the minimum thickness which dictates the life span.

Mark, do you know the percentage, front and rear, for stock brake bias on the 996TT? And how much of a change would Pagid yellows up front, with Pagid blacks on the rears, make to the braking bias? Thanks.
