Difference between K24/18G and K24/20G??
#31
I have also ordered a pair of K24/20G, 5 bar FPR, DV, and Proto's ECU waiting for receiving them as my first stage of mod. I hope I can get around 600+ crank HP with pump gas.
After I get used to this power level. I will further upgrade injector, fuel pump, Proto's intercooler, intake system and MAF sensor as my stage two mod. I hope this mod can get around 700 crank HP with pump gas. I look forward to receiving the kit and installing it.
My goal is to have 700 crank HP with pump gas. I follow the suggestion from Markski who told me K24/20g make 40 crank HP more than 18G does. That is why I choose 20g over 18g.

Its not for sale on the internet... just word of mouth.
Let's put it this way, there is a reason why Protomotive does not offer k24/20gs... and when someone figures it out then the light will come on.
BTW, the owner spent $10k on custom ECU tuning alone.

20g's don't seem to make any more power than the 18g's on lower
boost. They only make higher power above 1.2 bar. And 1.2 is already
pushing it on pump fuel.
18g's were awesome to 1.13-1.15 bar, and the
20g's only felt better above that point. The 18g's are more responsive, the
20g's are about 200 rpm's slower on boost onset.
They could probably still run 1.1-1.2 bar on 20g's if they have
93-95 octane. It's not that happy there. 1.0-1.1 on pump is about all they
like, then 1.1-1.2 on 100-103.

Yes I do. Since it is hard to acquire race fuel in Taiwan, 24/20g becomes good alternative to get 700 hp with pump fuel.

Markski thank you for your valuable info! To attain above boost figures in 20g, is it necessary? One's car must upgrade its injector, fuel pump, maf, and intercooler? Like my current set up to get around 600+ crank HP, what is proper boost level I should run for pump gas and 104 race fuel?
BTW, do I need to get a set of after market headers if I were going to next stage 700+ crank hp ? Thank you for your opinion!

or just get 18gs and run at 1.1 bars... on pump... and 1.3 bars on 100 octane...

on pump gas you will have the same HP as on 18gs... so no use... in order to take full effect of the 20gs u need protomotive ecu, injectors, pumps, intake, intercoolers, maf and maf housing, clutch....
or just get 18gs and run at 1.1 bars... on pump... and 1.3 bars on 100 octane...

My question is at 600+ hp level what is optimal boost level should I dail into EBC in pump gas and race fuel? Againd tks for your valuable opinion!
