I have a 2001 TT with PCM I. Called Navtec and was told that there would not be any newer map data updates available. The person I spoke with said there was some sort of hardware update needed to be done by Porsche before ordering newer updates for PCM I.

My question - is there a Porsche NA re/solution recall or upgrade available? Otherwise PCM I owners (like myself) have $3540 of obsolete equipment. If it was not meant to be software upgradeable then why have the disks?!

I JUST WISH I COULD (and in the years to come)!!

 

I'm pulling mine out and installing a new Pioneer AVIC-N1 head unit. I put one in my Silverado Pickup truck a couple of months ago and I just love it. They are doing my Boxster this week and then we are going to tackle the 2001 996 Turbo after that.
It is far better and faster naviagtion, you can add an optional TV Tuner, XM Module, etc..
