Have any installed the AP 650 turbo kit from Vivid Racing?

That would work too.

There is a lot more than only those 2 parameters to truly compare performance, which some tuners obviously overlook. Cost, reliability, product support, AND actual performance should all be considered in a comparison. Not just acceleration tests which 90% of the customers will never actually run nor care whether their car runs a 7.7 or a 7.9 "60-130" time. Allegiances aside, lets be real here.

A good trap speed never lies.

Good point Zach. The tests I mentioned/recomended however give most of the guys here real world numbers (which they can compare with other cars and kits to make their judgement/decisions) rather than some dyno numbers that really don't mean anything. Product reliablity is huge. That is why some tuners spend real time on tracks all over the world in many different climates testing their products instead of a dyno which you know can vary by some pretty big margins depending on where they are at, user, calibration, fans etc etc etc. It's a good tool for tuning but not really to measure hp.

I think you are fooling yourself if you think people plop down serious cash for a 610 or 650 kit and don't use the power on a daily basis.

put down the crack pipe!!

I don't think many people that buy these kits overlook cost. I think that Evoms has a very good track record on reliability and their years of experience also cannot be overlooked. I disagree with you on weather customers care about acceleration. Well most people that buy a 650 kit usually do care about acceleration and how fast their car actually is rather than what a tuner claims on a dyno. My car is very fast, very linear in power which I like, with very little lag, and very reliable. I have put over 5000 miles without a hiccup and plan on putting many many more.

I do think that the priority of people buying these 650 or 660 kits are...
- Performance and reliability go hand to hand
- then cost
- then customer service
If you get a good performance kit, reliable, and with a good price, we'd all jump on it; and you don't care who's selling it. If the kits are reliable, who cares about the customer service (it just icing on the cake).
How often do you hear buyers brag about their customer service?... my customer service is better than yours... it just sounds funny. When you compare cars, you compare the speed and the look. If everything equals, then customer service is a selection criteria.
