when will we see 1000rwhp out of these hi HP porsches?
#241
I have plenty of fuel delivery left.. and I only have 72lbs. injectors. However, I have a lot more done to the fuel system then most. I am not sure why you would need to go to 1200 cc injectors with drivers... maybe you want to run 30 psi? I really do not know the engineering end of it other then what Todd used to share with me. I can easily put down 900rwhp on my fuel system if I turn it up to 1.6 bars or so... Todd made 875 rwhp at 1.52 bars. 871 rwhp on another dyno...

According to my basic spreadsheet.. 60lb/hr injectors should be good for up around 19-20 psi and 790hp with a 8k rpm rev limit. 72 lb/hr injectors should bump it up to 26-27psi and 950hp. Of course, it's pretty basic with a guess for VE of the engine, etc.

Yes they are....

So what is the deal. Is this some special billet block?

If it was that easy it would have been done a while ago....

I thought it was directed at P-flat6 engines in general. Again, one comment was about how a split case engine could not take over 1000hp. Is this not a split case engine? Another comment was that there are no billet engines to get higher Hp's. Yet another comment was welding heads or straps to hold heads down at high pressures. Yet here we are at 1230 whp.
I am sure I am missing something here, but I a don't know what. Seems to me like that 964tt just broke the rules.

The 996tt is a lot more efficient.... 4 valves per cylinder vs 2... water cooled etc... Its the boost that produces the power.. and I have a feeling we are running half the boost Eddie is...

We could do it just that we dont dont run more then 1.5 bars of boost.... I can get in my car right now and run 1000 rwhp... but I am not a engine builder like Eddie Bellow is.... nor do I run that much boost....

ok, what you say makes a lot of sense, so basically, that kind of Hp in his engine will eventually grenade his motor? In otherwords it is not reliable hp which is what the intent of this thread is?

I cant speak for Eddie.... But Im probably safe to say that he has been in it more then once...
There are tricks one does to the build and it is not universal across engine builders... some will say that 750 rwhp you need to O ring the heads... meanwhile others will say that you need to do some custom work to the crank... who is right? IDK....

What you are missing is that is a air cooled motor vs. a 996tt that is water cooled. You do understand water does not compress, right? Not to mention it is probably running a stand alone.
#252
Absolutely and we would all be running 1200rwhp right now.Eddies car has been making that type of power for a while now.
#254
I know your just being an azz (the whole water compression thing) so please explain how that incompressible liquid makes a difference on the negative side and then explain why the fastest flat 6 porsche race cars all had water cooled heads (ie. 959, 956, 962, 936, GT1, you did know that, right? ) which is what the 996tt/997tt engines have(water cooled heads, not block).
I think jimmer and Markski answered my questions well enough. That aircooled 1200hp engine is also being stretched and is in fact no better than the other engines. Makes perfect sense and the point I was trying to get to which is that anyone can make gobs of hp, but most of the tuners in here want to make it reliably and thus that amount of hp has not been seen, which is commendable IMO.
