Mario let me know when you want to go for a ride and you can see for yourself what the conversion is like.

Also,

Are you referring to ACTUAL Garratt GT28 turbos that are water cooled and do not
bolt up to our headers OR our exhuast system unless you cut each of those apart with
a welder and refab??

I am guessing you are talking about the GT28 hybrid (great turbo by the way) that
has been used and proven extensively by GIAC (EVOMS), that bolts directly onto our
cars. They are not the same thing. I have the K24/18g and in my opionion they spool
"slightly" slower than the GT28 (hybrid) and pull harder on top.

Good luck

MK

Marty my main man. That is what Todd told me. He said my car should get the jump on Paulie's and his should pull more on top.

It will come down to a drivers race which will of course favor me.

Depends on the dyno. On the generous DD in cool weather, it put down 580 and this was before the upgraded fuel system. In the heat with my new set up it only made 564 the other day.

And here I was, sitting at home thinking "you know, I am nearly 46 years old w/ a wife and child...I really need to grow up, be responsible, and stop street racing."

But thanks to Chris and the parasol waving Walnut, I think I have to have just one last go at the ol Mexican highway.

Guys,

The 24/18's are incredible. Paulie, with those turbos headers, exhuast and tune ran my full GT 700 car even (actually pulled a half length up top consistently...but I had a passenger).

A $14 K package runs even w/ a GT 700 set up costing twice as much.

Thanks for sharing...great to see results of diff tuners going head to head.

Are the cars similar in weight?
Did you get a jump on him as you expected?

Is Paulie's 14k only comprise of turbos headers, exhaust and tune, or does it have additional components?

Is Paulie running a modified fuel system (either pump or injectors??)

On a side note....I rarely see Tuners talking about the Turbine (hot side) wheel? Am I missing something?

Thumbs up Upgrading thr Gt28 Hybrids

Sean, You can put larger compressor wheels on the GT28 Hybrids.
I spoke with the owner of Turbo Performance...turbo-performance.com
he said for $400 each turbo the GT700 would produce 50+hp. They have been in business for 31 years and he seemed to really know his turbo's.
See excellence mag June 2008 pg 191. I prefer the violent blast of the GT28's but I can see on the track it could be more of a challenge.

But back to an OT related question:Is it possible to put bigger compressors in the 28's?
