Window Tint...

I was wondering what window tint is everyone using on their cars ? I use Vkool on all of my cars including the front windscreens on all of them. It says that the tint is made in the USA but most of my mates in the US seldom use them ?

If anybody has a better tint to suggest, please let me know

TIA,

PN

I believe 35% is pretty much the standard. I did 35% on the side windows and 20% on the rear window. Tinting the windshield is illegal in every state in the US as far as I know. For that matter, it is illegal to tint the driver and passenger side windows in many states as well although many people do it. I received my first ticket for that a few weeks ago. I use Madico Onyx. It has a lifetime warranty against color change/fading. I heard it is the clearest and most distortion free. It also is a metallic tint that aids in cutting down on thermal gain in the passenger compartment. By the way, the %'s stated represent the amount of light that passes.
I paid $200.00 for the five windows on the MINI. The TT was already done when I purchased it.

Actually LLumar is (well IMHO) garbage. It uses Diversified Technologie's dye in the film, and has a blue/purple tint to it. If you want true gray, use 3M, if possible..titanium for heat rejection as well. Solar Guard from PA and 3M is probably the best looking / performing film. If you have black interior, you may want to consider 50percent or 35percent. From inside, you wont have difficulty seeing out at night, and it will "look " tinted from the outside.

I used the 3M 50% on my car all the way around front window and all. My car is silver with black interior and it is pretty dark.

I'm using Solar Guard... 13% all around. I don't find it too dark and I'm used to driving cars with pretty dark tint. However, I don't tint the front windshield...that's a little scarry for me
