removing clear bra question

There are couple of small spots in the clear bra that have a small bit of water under them. I'm thinking about just removing the entire clear bra before this gets worse.
Is there any special trick to removing this? Can this be done easily by myself?

jb,

First try poking a pin hole in the clear and then pushing it down to stick. Just don't poke the paint. It's a pain to remove, but if you do - heat it first. Most likely it will leave behind a lot of adhesive which is a pain to remove. I usually use over the counter Ace paint thinner (NOT Laquer thinner) and a cotton rag. Works pretty well. If you are going to re-clear it, do it right away because once you get any chips at all, they show more with the clear installed. The trick for a good, clean look is to install the clear on a perfect surface, as any imperfection is magnified by the clear film.

If you have installed the clear bra for more than a couple of months, those are not water; they are either dirt or glue. The best way is to get a steamer; steam the clear bra a small section at a time until it is very soft, then carefully remove it. If it is not soft enough, you'll be taking the chance of removing the clear coat with it.

If you're going to have a professional to re-film your car, you should have them remove the old film too.

Just to give you a heads-up, even with heat removing a clear bra was a huge pain in the a$$. The adhesive is very strong and it does leave a fair amount behind you need to clean up with denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner. I would just have the person who is going to reinstall remove the old stuff.
