I just went through the same deal, 997 cs4 vs 996tt and the 996tt is hands down the way to go. Mine is lowered with pss9's and the ride is quite smooth hwy unless you hit a bump or something like that. Cruising is sweet, actually I picked it up about 100 miles from where I live and drove it home with out a temp tag so i was staying ON THE SPEED LIMIT! And it was quite an enjoyable ride the computer even told me I got 27.5 MPG that was all hwy cruising at 55-60. And from what I've researched here on the boards the TT engine is pretty solid. Little quirks here and there (MAF *cough*) but solid none the less.

As far as drive if you are in the TT as a daily and see another sports car pull up you know you have the look of a nice sports car and could probably hang or best many of them out there if you wanted to drop your right foot. With the CS4 you may have to just wave and knod your head.

I know mine is a lot more money, but I have decided to sell my 2003 996TT. Silver with black leather interior - red stitching and factory red seat belts. 9,000 original miles, 6-speed, sunroof, full factory CF kit, GPS and highly optioned. PLUS I added Bilsteins, SSK, air box and exhaust. The car is in Connecticut. Window sticker was over $120,000 PLUS all my mods. Asking $85,000.

If you decide you want a C4S, this is a prime example of what you can find...if you're patient.

2002 C4S with only 8k miles for only $49.5k!! You may even be able to negotiate on top of that, who knows.

This car is RIGHT next to my house, I wouldn't mind checking it out for you, if you wanted.

I had a 03 C4S, drove it for a year and always wanted, needed more HP. I traded it in on an 03TT and never, ever looked back after having it for over a year now. Go with the TT, you will not regret it. I would think that you should be able to pickup an 01 for much less than what you are being quoted. For $57.8 you should be able to get into a nicely equipped 02 or stock 03 with much less mileage. Look for that extended warranty...they are a little costly to fix when a MAF, alternator, or something else goes out.
