Hey:
I just installed the Denso Iridium plugs in my car and I really like them. I have noticed a real difference in my gas mileage and power, much smoother than with my NGK's.
Something to think about, and I would like to know if others have experienced the same with the Denso's.
Thanks,
TCB

Data on the mileage (exact same route, etc., or 25-100 times with a traqmate?).

In asking others, the iridiums in colder climates were thought to be "not good", again based on words from people who had tried it all and had lots of problems...... So I listened.

So, I am curious....... I was pushed to copper and frequent changes and leave it at that. In doing that, no issues....these cars apparently are tough on plugs. Bosch FR6 (or about that name) is what I was recommended.

Just curious. This is not a rub...."real differences" without numbers means nothing to us. I'd love to have a plug last 50k rather than a realistic 15-25k on a stock to mild tune (tune = shorter life...).

Copper is a better conductor of heat. I suggest you stick with that, expecially in a boosted engine. Safer to change them more frequently. In addition, there is no measurable difference in performance between a properly gapped new cheap plug versus the more expensive top of the line plug.

Cheap plugs are terrible, I learned that the hard way. Copper is what I've always run, seems to work well.

I think he meant cheap as in non-iridium 30 dollar plug but good, 6$ copper plug like the Bosch FRx6 or whatever it was....do a search. I put them in 10k miles ago. NO issues.

I plan to change plugs q 20k, perhaps 15k...depends on how things go. I have a low threshold overall. I think that is key. Lots of people with weird stuff....changing plugs fixed the issue(s)...

Yes, a $7 NGK copper plug is as good as a $15 platinum plug as far as performance goes. Cheap was probably the wrong word to use.
