Satified with Stage 2?
Anyone here made the concious decision to stay at a stage 2 - K16 flash, exhaust, intake?
I must admit, although I generally subscribe to the more hp is better, I sometimes think 500-520 hp/tq is quite a bit for a road car and perhaps it would be better to focus on suspension and brakes than more hp.

It all depends on what you consider fast. I got bored of Stage 2 really quickly. Though before this my fun car was a 8 second LS1. So even now it feels fast, but it's still not fast enough!
Though for the average person. The stage 2 is perfectly fine. If you really want to haul the mail I'd go with a Stage 4 set up or if you REALLY need the extra power I'd go with the K24/18G setup.

I ask myself the same... I will never track my car or go to drag strip... so how fast does my car really need to be? Granted its nice driving on the street thinking your one of the fastest out there BUT there will always be someone faster... It all depends on what you use you car for... I would rather have a sick LOOKING car then an all out race car.

I've never really been able to sort out what "truly" is a stage 2 car. I know this much... My K16/24 UMW car is faster than anything in my town and does everything better than I can, so I'm pretty happy...
It also boils down to what you want your car to do for you. I do road course "stuff" and the more HP you have, the harder it is to drive the car well and fast.
What do you want your car to do for you?

Like the old adage... the definition of successful = making more money than your brother-in-law.

I have a stage 2 (Europipe, Flash and JRZ suspension) for the last year and still havn't had the urge to upgrade. I drive my friends SG700 and EVO700 HP cars and still havn't had the urge to upgrade... i guess i'm looking toward weight savings and getting the most out of stage 2. Eventually I might do a EVO660 kit or k16/16g.

It all depends what you want to do with the car, stock to stage 2 is great for any road course work, pretty much anything above 600 whp will make a pretty poor track car, but for the drags/ street stuff roll ons the skys the limit. I tracked a E30 M3 full mods with 295 hp for years, best track weapon I ever had.
For street driving I am bored with my stage 4+......lol....

Ive had this setup for 3 years and I love it. It's a great balance for a street car. Stoplight to stoplight it's quick as hell, and your stock clutch will survive at this power level. Unless you're going to the drag strip, or live near the autobahn, noone is going to know the difference between your car and a 700hp tt.

Had my set-up for a year and a half...bunch of track days and still not itching for more power. Added coilovers and sway bars, rollbar, seats & harness afterwards. Didn't want to roll down the slippery slope of upgraded clutch and other internals by pushing too much power. Will probably lighten and upgrade brakes before adding more HP. Having a hoot playing with race prepped 911's at the track with much more horsepower and much lighter too.

For track stage II is enough...
For Autobahns stage II is actually quite much, perhaps not enough but much. Remember there is a lot of corners and with 500hp+ you get to speeds of 300km/h+ easily. At that point its more about driving and cornering than sheer power.
For street racing and for internet nothing is enough...
