Coilovers; alignment, & corner Balance Result: Wow!
I know you all have heard this 100 times, but I just had JIC coilovers put on, lowered, aligned, & corner balanced and I had no idea it could make that much difference.
This is my first significant Mod and it was a hard choice to make: more power or more handling first. Anyway anyone still sitting there with the OEM setup, the difference is huge. It's like it's on rails. It's no harsher than the OEM ride but almost no roll going around corners. I didn't think I was getting much roll until I went around a few high speed corners after install.
Thanks to Road Sport Supply for the unbelievable deal, Anthony the Porsche mechanic who mounted them in Walnut creek, and TC Design in Milpitas who did an incredible job on the alignment and Corners. Tony at TC is a certifiable alignment genius.

Thanks for the feedback on the JICs. I'm going to change my suspension in the next two months and I'm debating between JIC and PSS9s or PSS10s. I don't track my car, but do like to drive aggressively.

Hi KellyT,
I also think that suspension is the best mod because you can use it alllll the time. I was somewhat surprise that you went with JIC since I don't believe you track your car. Most people think that PSS9 and PSS10 are better for street use.

I have the full stage III kit plus front H&R, two clicks stiffer than full soft on the road is fantastic with JIC 8/12kg springs. It was a give and I debated and debated...see many threads...but it is fine on the road.

Good choice. Always do the suspension first. It makes all the HP you have more usable. JIC an excellent track/street choice. Try the solid upper rear links and toe steer kits from GMG or Agency Power if you really want the back end to stay put. Otherwise PPS10 and H&R bars work just fine.

MY996TT: My twin, I considered the PSS10's but the deal I got was less than the best price I could find on the Bilsteins and the Cross Coilovers seemed to have more features when I researched it. Just a judgement call, I'm sure I would have been very happy with the PSS10's as well.
Duanne996tt: Thanks for the advice that will be my next mod I think, who's got the best prices and customer support
Anyway, not to put too fine a point on it. If you are sitting on the fence, considering coilovers. Just do it, you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. I need to vent though "A buck f'ing fifty plus for a car and they can't put in decent shocks WTF!!" There I feel better now

Since they are about 50/50, the price really comes into the considerations; I would probably do the same too if I need to pick. I'm with you... why didn't they do it right at first?

That means they're all good/similar; whichever has a better deal, go with it. Either way the ride will have a major improvement.

what should i expect in terms of ride quality because i currently have just H&R springs... and its definitely an expensive upgrade... everyone says it's worth it, but how if you guys wouldn't mind expanding your reasoning... thanks!

The stock suspension is firm but bouncy; especially over bumps, you would hear/feel the car bounces a couple of times. At high speed, I somewhat got that floating feeling. With the upgraded suspension, although they are firm (if not firmer), the ride is smooth over bumps (like a boat). At high speed, you really feel the car planted more on the ground. I also had front and rear sway bars replaced; you won't feel much tilting when changing lanes at both low and high speed. Overall, they made the car much more fun to drive, and feel saver. I always described to people that driving 130 feels the same as driving 30.

All P car parts seem to cost more than Honda parts. Some are worth it. Some are not...
Anyway, my car with JIC's can now do better on the track, and handle power better. I can "adjust the suspension" where as before I could not. SO, I can no corner balance. That was not something I really could do stock. The car is lower, so it looks better (taste issue)...
BUT, it was not cheap.
For me, the issue was will I do DE's? And, do I really like DE's? DE's are super expensive...tires, hotels, time, wear, etc. So, it is a portion of the big cost of things. That is something that I needed to decide. In isolation, I would not have upgraded the suspension...in isolation, I probably would have been happy with a lesser car....etc. But, I love the car!
Good luck.
