Talking Did someone say National Meet

Hello All!
Thank you Ron and Gary. Very sweet

When I was down in Florida with Xico and Orlie, we spoke of the Nat'l meet. We thought that Vegas was the place to have it why? Because it met every criteria
Such as.....
1) A place that conventions are held as a route event
2) Enough hotel rooms to accommodate everyone together
3) Banquet room for a nice dinner, just for us
4) Sweet roads to do some driving
5) Plenty of things to do i.e. shows, gambling etc....
6) TRACK!
7) Being that most of the members on 6speed are men and are married or have someone special, you might want to bring them. What better place for the women to be pampered then in the amazing spa's that the beautiful hotels have to offer. The boys get to play all day and the woman can shop, go to a spa etc.

I think we need to bullet point what we want then decide what city can offer it for the best price and most convenient for all.

I agree with Ken, Vegas is an expensive trip for the East coast people and agree that if Vegas is chosen. We will need to balance it out. The trip cost can equal a mod

Just my thoughts Please comment

It is the most equitable location for all concerned. What do you guys think??

I was in Dallas for the Gumball and it is nice. We can stay at the smae beautiful 5 star hotel.
LOL. Only an extra 300 - 400 miles for the bay area crew, and it is a race no less

Maybe all the Bay Area guys could drive up to Oregon first, oversleep and start from there

I think everyone has good points to why "their" location should be chosen. So far in my opinionit appears that Dallas and Las Vegas make the most "sense".

I'd be more than happy to help arrange this from the West Coast contingent. I'm sure I could convince Alex, Doug, Fred and a few others to help out with the organizing over on our end.

The question remains, where should our final destination be? Can we agree that Dallas and Las Vegas are both viable options?

Doug,
Yeah, I know. I guess I figured there were more people in Los Angeles. LOL

If it is Vegas, the trailer for The Six Pack alone will be about $10,000.

Again, I like the Vegas idea from the perspective of everything that Michele said. The only problem is the cost to get the cars there.............

I couldn't agree with you more on this Ken. It will definitely end up being more $$$ for your group to come out to Las Vegas. Maybe it's time to hit up some of our "sponsors" to help with the shipping costs?

One very good draw to the Las Vegas venue would be if we could coincide this event with the running of the Open Road Racing series in Nevada. Now that would sell me and also justify the whole car shipping thing. That would mean it would need to be next May-June 2005.

My previous point was if we were to sell spots to this event so that the people shipping their cars wouldn't be paying any more than anyone else then it would be more palitable for people. As a hypothetical example...............

If we charge $200.00 for everyone to attend, this could presumably cover the FL, NY, NJ, NC, etc. people to ship their cars. The west coasters would pay their own gas bill and the east coasters would pay their own air fare.

It would be a community thing in a valiant effort to get everyone there with their cars.

Just a thought.

It's gotta be Vegas. No other city like it...always something awesome to do.

I'm down. If you need help organizing, just let me know. I can rally the west coast troops.

We're in for Vegas. Depending on the date of course...

Guess I'd ship the GT3 there. Anyway we can get a good shipper to bring a whole truck full of our cars out there? I'd think they can start in FLA and go up the East coast picking up cars then truck them to Vegas. Wonder how much it would be per car if all the cars are going to the same place? Anyone have contacts in the car transporting industry??

p.s. I'd be happy to help out coordinating this esp if its in Vegas. I can convince Renee to go to Vegas -- don't know about Dallas! I have some contacts at Bellagio that might help. Being a rated Blackjack player there and all might be able to get some good room rates.

Ken,

If we do this during the Open Road Racing Series would you be in? I'm feeling this in Vegas Besides it will probably take us that long to make this type of commitment anyway, with hotel reservations, track time (for those that are so inclined) and of course any other extra curricluar activities

I can already see making reservations for 200 people at Nobu...hell does it even hold that many people?

$1500 roundtrip I can handle, if they dont dent it. ;-)

In any case, we prob need to have a few folks to coordinate seriously. I'd be happy to be in that group. Like I said, if its Dallas I don't know if I can convince the wifey to do it, if it's Vegas she'd be gung-ho.
