is it normal for my car to spew out some smoke upon hard acceleration? My cousin was driving behind me, and noticed when i floor it, there's a slight puff of smoke from my exhaust.

On start up -- yes.
On hard acceleration -- no.
What color was the smoke?

Are you stock or tuned?
Blue = oil
White = coolant
Black = fuel.

Black is the least worrisome color, but you're running rich. Maybe a dead spark plug? Bad tuning? How does the car feel otherwise? Any stuttering?

Running too rich. If you have in CA, automatic fail on Smog Check. Like other said, rich is okay, but lean is not.
