I am looking to buy this 2002 Seal Gray 996TT with 18k miles on it. What should I offer them considering it has no CPO?

Yikes, that thing is wayy over priced. I'd say nothing more than 58k. I just sold my 02 with 21k miles, RUF PSS9's, Upsolute, DV's, Sport seats, etc... for 59k.

Thumbs up Value

I would say more like $56-58 depending on overall condition. Hope it works out for you.

Terrible price. But that is expected as it is a dealer. Go private party. Look in the for sale section here for much better deals!

In April, I paid $53k for my 01 with 32k miles, EVOMS Stg 2, exhaust, etc. Just for reference.

+1 for buying private party. Gives you a better understanding of the car's condition (ie. previous owners).

There is a Porsche dealer in the Dallas are name escapes me that sells cars similar to that for mid 50s with the Porsche warranty look them up. For reference I bought my 2002 in Mar. 08 X50 car with tons of mods bigger turbos, bigger intercoolers Tech Art front sides and rear custom wheels for $65,000 from 6 speeder it did have 34,000 miles but probably 25-35 thousand in extras.

You are better off buying a Porsche from a dealer in California or Texas and having it shipped to the east coast.

Personally I would stay away from this vehicle. Look at the Carfax.
On 7/22/02 they did suspension work and lubricated the chassis. Why?

On 5/29/08 it was sold at an auction. Hopefully someone can PM you and tell you exactly how much it was sold to the dealer for.

Might consider going up to $60K

When I was looking for my car, I just could not find these kinds of deals. Everything I saw under $55K was either in rough shape, an 01 (nothing wrong with this, but wanted an 02 or newer) or had greater than 50K miles.

If this is the perfect car for you and your time is at a premium, I'd consider going up to around $60k for the car. You'd be surprised at the little options that can take time to find in the right ext/int color e.g. seal gray/black with heated seats.

I just got my 02 996tt with 13,xxx miles with intake Vflow, DV, ECU flash and 997tt wheels with brand new tires for 61K. Mine is a silver one with black interior. IMHO it was about as close to show room new as a 6 year old car could be. I hope this helps, good luck!

Only reason to buy from a dealer is it offers you low rate if you are taking out a loan. CPO cars for a 2002 will get under 5.5% not too many places would offer that kind of rate for a 6 year old car. The other reason is of course the CPO warranty.

If the above doesn't matter to you look for a private car.

For that kind of money, you can be looking at an 03 x50 or 04 with similar miles..theres an 04 seal gray with 17k listed right now for high 60's. For an 02, they can do better than that price even if its pristine.....realistically 57-60.
