Car cutting out .

I have a 2001 996 C2. I'm tracking my car this weekend and even before I got on the track my car started cutting out. It was like the ignition was shut off, a few seconds later it would kick back in. The fuel tank was 1/2 full. I went and filled it full and it didn't happen again. It was 95 in Pueblo CO where I'm tracking. It was almost like vapor lock. I had just driven 1.5 hours down from Denver with no problems. Any ideas? I hope I don't have to drive the whole weekend with a full tank of gas. Thanks.

I chased an intermittent cut out problem on my RSA for months. Turns out it was the negative battery cable. They corrode from the inside out so they still look good but start dropping Voltage across the cable. when the voltage gets low enough the relay trips off and everything stops. The V drop is greater when they get hot. I would be driving down the road and everything would go dark... after a few seconds lights would come on and it would restart. Finally I could reporoduce it by grabing the cable and wiggling it.

$20 part and all was good again.

Might be your issue....
