Hello Houston gang

Thanks to all of you for having me and showing me some southern hospitality! Paulie, thanks for whipping my *** and not telling me we were supposed to be in 2nd not 3rd. I am still learning as you guys and gals got to hand me my rear end on a platter but it was a good time. This new clutch is killing me by the way. You should have seen me after work practicing 15 or so times in my parking lot trying to get the car to move out of first. I must have stalled 30-40 times between Sunday and today. I caused jams at green lights and almost rolled back and hit the poor gal behind me who must have been thinking look at this guy who just landed a big job and bought a car he can't even drive. No its a racing clutch that is very on/off and chattery and I'm doing the best that I can. I have about 450 miles on the clutch now so I'm hoping it gets better. Hope to be up sooner than later. Thanks again All!

Tom

Tom,

It was great meeting you. I got a few good shots of your car leaving the downtown area as you were headed back to SA. When I get some time I will post them. Hang in there with the clutch break in. Sean was *****ing worse than you about his ATS when he first got it, but he is happy now so there is hope. Come back to H-town soon.

Tom,

Give the clutch a full 1K. It is hard to drive but will get better over time. In the long run you will be glad you got it.

Sorry I did not make the meet, but I was tired from the night before and had to spend some family time on Sunday.

Wow, Sean...putting family first? Fatherhood has really changed you! Or...maybe this is the investment required before getting GT30s. <thumbs up>

Chris,

Never got a chance to mention it but I love your turbo. Is it the same color they offered the E36 M3 in? Either way it looked awesome.

Thanks Ben. I'll have to look for the E36 M3 color. Porsche calls it Viola Metallic; I call it eggplant. The purple is pretty subtle in most light, so a lot of people think it is black. It was available as a special order in 2001 only, and I'd love to find out how many were made. Hmmm, how about a license plate "EGGPLANT" or "EGGPLNTT." Then of course there is always "BARNEY TT."

Actually, it is a combination of 4 factors:1; My son is up and active now...he is so Awesome! I am already teaching him choke holds and submissions.2; My wife has dropped 25 lbs. 3; I realized just how truly creepy the hot 22 year old women find me. 4; If my wife really does leave me it will cost me about 400K.

While on the subject, did I ever tell you about the TWS day during the Supra nats (I was racing/doing car related stuff for 4 days straight)? I was at College Station for the road course event and had received multiple calls from my wife, which I did not return.

I got home that night, exhausted and fell into bed. My wife comes home and comes into the bedroom with a really, really serious look on her face...I said "hello sweetie, whats wrong?" She said "Didn't you notice, #$#thew (my son) and I moved out!"

I said "Oh....hmmm, no, I just thought the house looked unusually clean."

Since then, if I do a car day with the lads, I spend a family day w/ the wife and son.

Excellent policy. As they say, "if Momma ain't happy then nobody's happy." Besides, decades from now, will it be memories of time spent with Paulie that you cherish? Oh crap...PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THAT!
