Similar performance + longer life + similar price = pick 2 (you can't get all 3).

REVIEW of HTR Z III
I have had the Sumitomo for about 1 year and 5,000 miles. Prior sets include Bridgestone S-02A, Michelin Pilot Sport, and Pirelli P Zero Asimetrico.
I liked the S-02A and PS, they were good handling and rode well. The Asimetricos were loud and rode rough.
The Sumitomo are quiet and has rather good wear. The Sumis do not feel as sticky as the S-02A or the Michelins and are not as predictable when driven hard. I also noticed tramlining especially when pressure is set at factory spec of 36/44 and I had to lower them a few pounds to reduce the car following the ruts and grooves on the road.
It is a decent compromise for a street tire in that it handles pretty well, quiet and will last long. ( I predict 20-25K miles for the rears, whereas I was getting maybe 12K for the other sets ) At half the price of the high end tires. and last twice as long is a good compromise.
For maximum performance and without consideration for wear and cost, one should look elsewhere.

As always Damon, Thanks!
I'm going into my second season on the winter tires. The summers (Kumho Exsta XS) have a decent second summer season for the rears. Fronts will probably last another season. The Kumhos are amazing summer tires for those interested.

My Sumis actually did very well in cool weather. I drove them in the winter as well and they did better than I expected. I about wrecked with the Kuhmos and it was around 60-65 out!
