K24's

I am getting some work done on my car at LMS in Houston. He has a set of K24 turbos available but does not know if they are 18 or 20g's. Is there a way to tell from the serial/part numbers on the turbo? The numbers are

Probably neither unless the turbos were sent out to be machined and upgraded.

Exactly.

Hopefully the "work" the shop is doing is limited to vacuuming and tire pressure checks!

Welcome to 6speed fellow Houstonion!

LMS? You mean Terry Lawell's shop? He is very under the radar and has been building monster 996 turbos long before anyone here on 6speed.

You can't tell by the numbers on the housing (all use the same part number), or even by the tags (tags do not change even though it may have been modified). Give me the diameter of the compressor inducer (turbo inlet) and I can tell you if it is K16, 16G, K24, 18G or 20G. BTW, I have a set of K24s and also K24/18Gs if you are interested.
