My new 2008 GT2!

Rumor has it that they sold TWO GT2's. OP included. Who was the 2nd?

I had the good fortune to meet David at SPI yesterday. He stopped at the shop to show Tym the GT2. He was nice enough to take me for a ride. First of all pictures do not do the GT2 justice. It is an exceptionally well proportioned vehicle and the body work is going to tempt many 997TT drivers to place orders for replacement front and rear bumpers (assuming they are interchangeable). I attached some cell phone pics in the parking lot FWIW (I did not get a signed "model release" form from David, so I hope he does not mind me posting these).
David was quite deliberate in driving the car. Seems he is a little concerned with a concept called "break in" We did manage to exceed the century mark once or twice without revving past 6K rpm. Two things impressed me most. Number 1 was the effortless/seamless power band. It was like driving with the Hoover Dam behind your head; all this potential energy pent up waiting to be released. Very cool! Number 2 was the absolutely beautiful (for a Porsche) interior. I am certain that every GT2 is quite impressive to behold but this car has leather/carbon fiber/high gloss piano black/deviated yellow stitching details arrayed in a most tasteful and epic fashion. Oh I almost forgot a third thing I liked - the seats! Must have some of those as well...
At any rate we all went to lunch, ate some pizza, traded stories and enjoyed the good company and weather. Thanks David and Tym. David for the ride and Tym for the good kharma and serendipity to meet David.
