Whoever bought the car... your lucky trust me....
Dont send it back... just make them give you money for a clutch rebuild kit plus labor.
I can find out what you need... no big deal... maybe a $800 clutch disk plus labor.
If ur close to Tommy Bahn have him do it...
Trust me that if you put straight C16( no pump gas) in it and crank it up to 1.5 bars you can run against 900 hp Supras... I seen it done many times...

Stay away from the dealer. Everything is triple the cost. Find a SOLID, reputable Porsche specialist that will take good care of you.

Not really sure if used cars should come with clutch warranty IMO. It IS used after all and wear and tear items are to be expected and inspected fully prior to purchase.

I am not standing up for used car dealers. They are generally a slimy bunch.

But it's not like they owned the car and have a high resolution history and memory of the car. They generally buy wholesale, sometimes at auction, and sell at retail. That's the business model.

Buyer beware.

while I have heard some VERY VERY bad things about them, I have to think that some of them are expecting a brand new car for half the price... I really feel bad for you. Next time speak to a more reputable dealer.

One of the previous posters had it right when he mentioned the lack of communication being the deal breaker. That is usually a great way to get a good idea about the dealer you are going to go with for your "investment." Make sure the dealer is easily contacted and pick his brain about things. If he is knowledgeable and willing to work with you, they will generally be better about standing behind their "product". Again, I am very sorry to hear about your issues - nobody ever wants to deal with issues when first receiving a vehicle.

Knowing a few in the car business, I can tell you that for the most part they are not blatently dishonest. Instead, they are more along the lines of overly optomistic. They dont pay attention to details.... they like to believe that every car is great so they can make the deal go thru. If I was in your shoes, I'd be pissed off at the fool who did your PPI.

I still have yet to figure out what really is wrong with the car... other then a spare tire missing which was replaced... a hydraulic problem on the rear wing( no big deal)... and possibly a slipping clutch....
The clutch is $1500 away from being fixed- get a credit and fix it...
That car is one of the fastest P cars out there... Im not sure if any of you know but it trapped 139+ mph and actually ran a 10.1 second run. This is far more then any tuner can provide from a off the shelf kit.... I know the car and I know the original owner/ builder.
So suck it up.. get some credit from them.... get it fixed and start doing what that car is meant to do- GO FAST!
thats my take...

I don't think due to this situation you should insult CMC and question their integrity. A highly modified car will experience it's share of problems in due time and due to it's modified nature, becomes much more unstable.

I have personally dealt with CMC about 7 times in a year and half and have not once had a bad experience, Parin has always been a stand up guy as have the rest of his crew, and i have nothing but positive things to say about CMC. I have recommended his place to many friends and when a friend is in the market for a new car, i always tell them of his place.

It's a bad situation, but it can be fixed, and the "motor issues" since have not been described, suggestions cannot be rendered, as for the clutch, well... a clutch is a clutch...

Craig is a completely lying about half of the issues he is claiming, The car arrived in Colorado to be PPI'd by a porsche dealer of his choice. Jim and Justin(service writers at stevenson porsche) who I spoke to for 1 hr on the phone basically said Craig is having Buyers Remorse. I wished he would have called me to tell me he doesn't like the car, rather than making a bunch of bull**** up. The CLUTCH is BRAND NEW, I was the last one to drive the car before it left for CO. The shattering noise comes with any HIGH HP PORSCHE THAT REQUIRES a NON factory clutch and lightened flywheel. The clutch is perfect. The real Complaint by PORSCHE was that the car has 1 small oil leak from a fitting and a line.. Which I will gladly pay for which craig is aware of. Only thing is that porsche will not guarantee and work because the car is modified. I have over 25 6 speed online members that saw the car is the showroom. This car is far from being POOR. Craig also mentioned that the michelin pilot cups were bald. thats when they start working. At that time I also offered to reinburse him for any tires of his choice. He told me the Interior was shot, the engine has multiple issues, clutch is messed up, bumper is repainted (which I told him the bumper is repainted) Stevenson porsche said they never said the engine has multipe issues, never said the interior has problems, I don't understand how seats are worn when the seats that were in the car were gt3 seats that I sold 1 1/2 ago for the previous owner. I just got home from out of town. I will be calling craig in the morning and Will post results.

Gt 35's on stock motor...I remember Todd mentioning this car.

I would keep the boost down, lol, and consider strengthening the bottom end.

To the OP, the work was done by the best and yes, the triple carbon fiber clutch/flywheel will rattle, but no other way to hold the power. To be honest, I get tired of all the ladies whining about a high performance clutch.

You had the car shipped to Colorado for a PPI there?!?!

The first P in PPI is "PRE".

I'd say you owe shipping there and back, no questions.

I have my own issues with CMC- poor manners over the phone, shoddy responses to inquiries. Pretty quickly I crosssed them off my list of potential vendors.

I've seen many cases where the PPI is a problem- Porsche dealers view it as a way to pick up a few hundred dollars for 30 minutes of work- all they need to do is enough to avoid any legal liability. Rarely is it an adequate inspection. They can be such 'old ladies' with mods they will be a useless 'referee' when it comes to giving you and unbiased evaluation.

On a modified car, they are the last ones I'd use. for a PPI or repairs!

Markski says he knows the car personally and it's clean.

All the mods were disclosed....

This is one of the reasons I hate the internet sometimes. Slander somehow becomes any buyer's privilege.

How much did you buy the car for? Maybe I'll take it off your hands.

What is a regular Porsche delaer in CO going to know about a 996TT with 35's?
Take it to somebody that knows what they are dealing with.

Craig, you apparently have no business buying a car of this magnitude based on your actions (dealership PPI? You think they even know what a GT35 is??) and words.

It's a damn shame a car like that ended up in your hands. Looks like a wicked nice car.
