Got it done the other day. I think it's the fiddliest job i have ever done.
It's very tight in there. The rear valve hits the roof of the heat cover and the front valve hits the oil filter holder. I take it thats normal as I couldn't move them so they wouldn't touch anything ?

Did you use a couple of washers so that it did not hit the oil filter holder? If not, go back in there and put a couple in.

I don't know how relevant this is, but I've seen that some of the diverter valves are a lot bigger than others. I don't know that the actual size of the valve has much to do with the performance, but the particular model I bought was not that hard to install except for the usual backside ford-type clamp that gets everyone's goat. I didn't have the top clearance problem, but of course you want to make sure you buy the valves that have the 90 degree top vacuum hose fitting.

I didn't use the washers as it is touching the oil filter housing not the positive battery terminal ?

Nice!

Are you still using the oem (paper) air filter?

Yep, still go the paper filter.
Tempted by the BMC but worried about covering the MAF with oil

I use BMC with no MAF problem. I've read from other forums and here that some people have issues when they introduce a new intake versus the oem box. (Too much air going in???) I may be wrong.
