Road trip in the new Lambo G:
Figured i would post here for posterity. Traded my 996TT and picked up this Gallardo last weekend in Vegas and me and my best friend for the last 20 years drove it back to Colorado.
The drive was awesome despite the bad weather once we hit Vail pass at around 10pm. The car was outstanding and it was an awesome way to get used to it. Between that and getting to spend a couple hours washing it today, I feel like I'm getting to know the car pretty well...Here are some pics from the drive:
Taking Delivery at the Palazzo:
Leaving Vegas:
First rest stop...probably still in Nevada:
Second stop in Arizona Desert:
We ran with this guy at about 110-120 for a while:
Utah Stop:
Utah Desert:

Heck yea i did. He loved it...and it actually was a better sense of speed sitting as a passenger than as the driver. As a driver, it was real linear and not the same kind of torque as in the TT....kinda like you just mash the gas and you are doing 130+, vs. the getting rammed in the *** end by a truck like in the Porsche. As a passenger, it was much more noticeable.

congrads on the move. I did the same move as you, but traded in my 6th turbo (4 996tt's and 2 997tt's) in the past 6 years for the Gallardo(07 Nera) I could'nt be more happy. I LOVE the Gallardo. As far as speed goes, that goes away with time. But the looks on the peoples faces and all the pictures being taken of you is something that takes a REAL long time to get tired of.
Good luck and be careful.

Congrats! Was your Turbo modded? From what you posted, sounds like you thought the Turbo felt quicker???? There are some intangible characteristics the Gallardo has that I'm sure more than make up for a little difference in performance.
