I left out these cars because they qualify as "mid-size" luxury sport sedans. If you notice, the rest of the list consists of Jumbo super-size sedans only.

As for the Continental GT that Erik likes, it's a great car, but its a coupe, and as such does not qualify for the list.

Congrats on the A8 Detailer708, wonderful car. I'm currently driving the A8 demo while the dealer is working on my turbo and I love it!

Honestly, I'd take my Cayenne Turbo over any of the above. The Cayenne is an awesome vehicle. Absolutely amazed me.

Just my $0.02. But, for some reason the only manufacturer that seems to make cars that truly inspire me is Porsche. The attention to design and performance characteristics is unparalleled IMO.

The E55 would be awfully tempting too though. Mercedes makes very nicely engineered cars - the only drawback IMO is that I'd rather have a luxury vehicle designed by a racecar/sportscar company than a performance car designed by a luxury car maker. The difference is subtle, but obvious on the execution.

Your opinion is respected Racer, but if you refer to the previous posts, this poll is about Large luxury sport sedans, not SUVs or mid-size sport sedans.

true, but the Cayenne Turbo is more of a luxury sport sedan than either the Maybach or Phantom which received so many joke votes. No question they are great luxury sedans but can't be considered "sport" at all. While the Cayenne Turbo is more of a sedan than those other 2 are sport.

IMO without question the car that should have led is the one with the least amount of votes, the Maserati. That has more luxury, more sport, and definitely a sedan than any of the rest.

Sedan means it has a boot sticking out.
Cayenne may be sport, but it's no sedan.

Actually Cayenne's a Sports Van missing a 3rd row seat.

true, but the Cayenne is still more of a sedan than a Phantom or Maybach is "sports".

No. The correct statement is: "Cayenne as a Sports Van is sportier than a Phantom/Maybach as Sports Sedans".

Cayenne can not be more sedan than Phantom/Maybach as a van. They're not on the same plane.

have to agree to disagree, Webster defines sedan as "2 a : a 2- or 4-door automobile seating 4 or more persons and usually having a permanent top "

Cayenne fits that definition more than 0% cuz IMO Phantom/Maybach are 0% sports

Ok. I'll agree to what the dictionary says.
But we know that's not how the word is used commonly.
Otherwise, there'll be no distinction between coupe, sedan with a trunk, suv, sav, porsche carrera, beetle, cadillac, and so on.
Enough of this nonsense

I still vote for the A8 because I think A8 platform was designed from the ground up with all the right compromises to be a luxury sports sedan.
There's no other variant of it in the line up, unlike the mercedes.

How can a sedan with 664 ft-lb of torque not have at least a tiny bit of sport in it?
