Looks like quality workmanship to me. Looks almost aircraft grade material and should last a life time of the car. The only thing I see wrong with the design is the bolt on flanges. They should use round flared flanges with Janitrol S/S clamps that guarantees no leaks because of the high heat and hot gas issues . I guess someone came up with an after market PSE for turbos too. Like to hear what it sounds like after it's installed.

I am curious to see how the ECU reacts to this switch....once you bypass the cats the 02 sensors are not going to be reciveing any exhaust fumes. This makes me think the ECU might think the car is running lean and really make the car run rich... Granted I am not a tech, but just thinking of logic that is the problem that comes to mind...ECU tuning...

Looks really good..

I am guessing it is a Kreis-sieg exhaust.. Probably being distributed by ***** (i'll leave the name out because Shank may want to keep it private).

Valvetronic technology has been around for a while. I figured it would trickle down to the P-Cars eventually.

They have been around for F-Cars for a while and for Lambos as well. Very expensive but excellent quality and workmanship.

Yeah, the valvetronic gave it away for me as well. Can't wait to hear the impressions though.

Evan, I am sure the ECU gurus on the board will give a more definitive response... but I do not think the O2 sensors after the cat in OBDII cars are used in determining rich/lean conditions (the one before the cat is). The one after should only be used for emissions reasons... so in this scenario, you should not get a CE light because the second O2 sensor is bypassed by the valve.

On the 996TT tho the first and second cat are within 6" of each other... To me it looks as though when you switch to straight pipes it will bypass BOTH 02 sensors, which is the reason for my question.
I agree I would like to hear what some ECU Gurus think...

I hope you get a chance to do a dyno run with the new exhaust... it will be interesting to see how much backpressure is created by the control valves and plumbing.

What exhaust are you running now?

Are you planning on doing a dyno run with the new exhaust compared to your existing exhaust?

Evan, good question, and good point. The exhaust, even in Straight pipe mode, allows 20% exhaust flow thru the cats, just for the reason you pointed out.
