Boost Question when shifting.....
Just curious, how much boost are you guys loosing when shifting gears? I have K24's and I hit 1.2 bar, when i shift at say 7K RPM my boost drops to I think about .8 (if my eyes are catching it in time) then its peaking back up at 1.2 again after i stay on the throttle for a second......I am running a 50/50 Hybrid BOV rather then diverters and curious if there is a difference, or if I should be staying higher in boost when shifting. I guess I can change the settings on the BOV to recirculate if it makes a difference.

Plenty of Proto cars (including mine when I was at the PE700 stage) run 7.4k on stock internals. I've never heard of it causing any problems.
LINks - IRT to boost drop...that's just the way it is with manual, turbo cars. Autos always have the advantage in this regard since they don't drop out of boost. You can change the BOV springs out for stiffer ones to hold boost longer between shifts, or you can just try to shift faster.

No Bang ; ).... Maybe just before 7K I think stock limiter is 6600, with the flash its raised a bit? but if I put 100 octane it goes past 7K.... Pointless..... where does your boost fall to when you shift gears?

I have no idea, I cant say I have ever logged the car, should I? and what will that let me know if i do? im not into all that technical stuff.......... Its a motor with 2 turbos attached to 4 wheels and as long as its running strong beating other cars im a happy camper. If I bounce off the redline it really doesnt bother me at all to be honest.

I visit the doctor & dentist myself once every 5 years, as long as im running strong no worries, dont fix it if its not broken is the motto......So have you figured out how much your boost drops when you shift gears or what? Next time you take it out let me know so I can compare.
By the way your car looks mint as hell! but you list an Airbag sticker delete as a mod? we are a different breed of car enthusiast.

dude...you are 25...I am twice your age...someday you will recognize the importance of regular checkups...trust your elders. oh and my list on my site is to remind me of everything I have done to the car...at my age memory fades fast.
Are you running a LWFW? I will try to look next time, but when I am driving like that the last thing I am doing is watching the gauges.

I just made a doctors, dentist, and proctologist appointment.... haha,
I am not running a LWFW, I have a stage III kevlar clutch with the dual mass. I never checked my boost fall off since I owned the car; however, the other day I was running a done up E55 Benz which I was able to pull on but I felt that when I shifted he made up to much ground for comfort. I dont know if it was just the auto tranny vs manual or if I was loosing to much boost between shifts due to using a BOV which vents opposed to diverters which circulate.....so I am curious if I am seeing the same numbers as the other guys, the only other thing I can do is adjust the valve to recirculate and see if it makes a difference.

that should be fun
I think you will lose some when you shift no matter what, but the lwfw will improve this....not sure if bov/dv really will have much impact....seems to me they either work or don't....but I am no expert on this.

in between shifts stay on the gas a bit instead of letting off gas will help keep the boost up. Not to say stay on full gas between shifts. You might have already tried this. It helps me from bogging, it like relearning how you release throttle between shifts.
