NOT OT: My wife is the coolest!

Thanks Guys. I'm taking notes on whose wives need calling by her.
Exept for Gregg who is already there. I may be PMing for temp and pressure advice. I'm not sure where I should be there.
Tim W. The response to the gift is a challenge. I've been thinking since last night. I'm still not sure what.
Bad7, I'll PM you.
Tim... track report for sure. I can't wait to see the difference after years of street tires!
Mark, the Ribs are 10x better than the Pzeros. My only caveat is that my alignment was fairly off with the Zeros, so it may not be fair. But... the Ribs are wonderful. Smooth at high speeds. Excellent cornering and grip. (haven't tried the wet grip yet)
The turn-in is about equal. In general, I think they are the best street tires I've ever had. Ironically, I'll probably do one track day on them to test their limits before I run the cups.
Devil man... nice plan. You can come take care of 'business' whenever you need as long as you set me up like this.

Just tell your wives that the tires can prevent nasty accidents on the track and after all, what's a littlle $ when it comes to safety and good tread. Scott, I think you should get wheels and not use the same tires for street and track. Keep the track tires separate and you can judge which you like best for wear and traction. I have the pilot cup sport and they are great but I don't like them as a daily driver. Plus, it is nice to fall back on street tires when it is raining. I don't know about you, but every time I go it rains. I have slicks as my third set and they have stayed on the garage floor for three events b/c of the rain.

James,
That's exactly what I'm doing. My wife just didn't realize that I needed rims too.
I'm currently looking for a 2nd set and have swapped PMs with a couple of folks on this board about their take-off wheels when they upgraded to nicer rims.
I'll just put the cups and wheels on right before the drive up to the track (90 miles each way). I will drive on my new Pilot Sport Ribs on a daily basis.

When you get the feel of the cups, go for the slicks and tell us what you think. Unfortunately, with the all wheel drive you must match front to rear rolling diameters and so it is necessary to buy new instead of raced slicks (therefore not cheap.) I can't tell you yet if I like pirelli's over other slicks, but I did notice quite a difference with the cups over the p zero stock tires. I overpaid on my stock rims, $1200 for barely used from a race mod friendly dealer Charlotte. I've seen tire and wheel combos for $1300 in Excellence. I can't remember the dealer. Your wife sounds way cool. Tell we all said so!
