I have a question for any of you that can help shed some light on something for me.

A car that has Sports Seats - but no painted backs - is this something that can be done - or did this have to come from the factory this way?

Most of the sport seats that you see have been color matched from the factory to match the exterior of the car. I'm almost positive that you can remove the hard plastic back and have it painted. Hope this helps.

There was a member here who painted the backs of his sport seats. They weren't painted from the factory, so he pulled them out and painted them. They turned out great.

Do a search for sport seats - I believe his handle is zip22 - he has a blue TT

 

Yes, all the sport seats should have the hard plastic backs. Any decent paint shop should be able to handle this for you.

I had mine painted at a local body shop. They're cool if you don't tint and invisible if you do.

I am looking at a car with them painted and I love them.

I am also looking at a car without the sport seats and I really want them.

I guess I could purchase them? From the dealer?

 

I have the painted backs and it looks great. Adds a Nice touch to the interior.
I think some of them come in leather too.

3-4 hours for remove and re-install plastic seat back plus paint job. 700-1K range will be fair price.
