Buyer Beware Newport Auto CA
Finally after months of poor to non-existent communication, dreadful post sale follow up and general disregard I am compelled to write.
My experience with Newport Auto started in February of 2008 with the purchase of a 996 '02 TT. After a thorough PPI, and successful negotiations I took possession with the understanding that all original Porsche factory items would be include in the transaction. Manuals, Lug Nut Key etc....... and two ignition keys with FOBs. Upon delivery the second key and FOB could not be located and I was assured that it would be forwarded with in days. Well.....days went by and then weeks and finally months. After successive calls to the sales team and getting nothing but 'the run around' I had a conversation with the owner who assured me that this is not how they do business and promised a swift and total solution. Needless to say I did not hear back from any one for many more weeks and upon following up yet again I was told that there had been a $50 dollar credit applied at a local dealer for me to pick up an ignition key. Wow......an entire $50 in place of a 4-500 dollar factory FOB & program on a $60,000 + cash purchase and 6 months of waisted breath. How utterly lame and un-exceptable.
It seems despite this claim on their website "Our uncompromising attention to detail and out passion to excel in customer service.......bla bla bla" at the end of the day they are simply your garden variety used car salesman.
How very disappointing.

Is this a new car dealership or just used cars. I couldn't find them on the web.
I hate to hear about stuff like this. Same thing happened when my daughter bought an 02 Passat. When cars come through an auction, they often lose key fobs. That's probably where all the used key fobs on e-bay come from. Anyway, the little ma and pa used car dealership (A+ motors in Vista) actually came through and ate the cost of a new key fob and programming after only being asked once... and that was a $6750.00 car. Newport Auto should be ashamed.

I learned that lesson several years ago when I bought an E55 from a used car lot in San Diego. They promised an extra key and several other items. Never got them. Believe me, once you leave the lot you are done. They may have good intentions intially, but as time goes by it gets easier and easier for them to blow you off. Now, when I look for a car and they don't have the items with the car I'm looking at, I walk. Been there, done that. Sorry to hear your story. Cheap Bastards!

Ah, that's on the other side of the place I was thinking. Those jokers wanted to sell me a 993 twin with a CEL and said "no big deal"...right.

Phillips Auto... yeah those guys suck! Back when I was in the market, sales guy didn't even think I was serious enough to get a test drive. I said screw it, took my business elsewhere and ended up finding an awesome 996TT.

i feel your pain, bought mine from an autotrader power-dealer @ newport area too, one key only, fake navi-disc, no manuals...etc
just bought an 997 blank key from a member here (thanks MASS!!!), and will have to spend extra cash to get that programmed.

Ha Ha , I got the same story from SPORTS TREND in LA , Never got my key's even they promised. The Manager Shahin or whatever his name is made BS excuses and that was only one of the many tricks he pulled on my deal.
Feed back is the most important thing so others dont get fooled by stupid lame *** dealers.

Had a similar experience as well about 4-5 years back with a place in Beverly Hills. Never got spare keys or manual which i made clear I wanted for a 1998 Porsche Cab. Promised to deliver but never responded. The place i got the car from was non-existent a few months later...

"A key for this car is $600.....since you do not have the second one here and you agreed to two keys, I'll make it easy on everyone and get it taken care of myself. This way you don't have to screw around with the dealership. Here's a check for the car for $59,400. Have a nice day."
