Should I get straight pipes?
#16
I have high flow cats with straight pipes and I don't consider it annoyingly loud. It is loud, but not terrible.
The system pictured above is exactly what I was going to have someone build for me. Who's already got a system like that and who made it?? Seems like loudness would still be there...
Does Burns just provide mufflers or did they make a complete exhaust??

Here is what happened:Tommy installed the Vivid/Agency Power Garret GT turbo adapter kit and the kit absolutely did not configure with the exhaust (which is a standard configuration).
I decided that I could not live with the straight pipes. Thus Tommy worked all day and night to fabricate a fitment between the Agency Power headers and My Europipe exhaust and he was able to pull it off.
Dan is on his honeymoon right now but I am 100% sure that he and Matt (at Agency Power...he was very nice and tried to help...but the kit simple does not fit properly) will help me to compensate Tommy for his efforts. I will also like to add that Dan gave we a good price on the kit so I do not in any way want to criticize him or Matt.
Tommy took some pictures and I will post them up.

I have run straight pipes for years. why, because it is the lightest fastest set up for this turbo car period.
do I care about the noise, no. it is quite enough to short shift out of your neighborhood in the am and not get anyone mad. I asked everyone on my street and everyone loves the car and doesnt mind (no I dont live in a trailer park, no offensive to those who do)
for 99% of people however I would run some kind of "muffler" as you most likely are not strong stomached enough to take the noise, droning, and compliants. I can!!
congrats on your great car!!

looks great, 3" pipes? So you bought one donut and then cut it up into 90deg sections to make the x-pipe?

Thanks
Yes 3"
No the x pipe is fabricated of 4x 90deg sections

yup, I got one quote on a similar 3.5 inch system for about $1,900 using my cats. I figure I should be able to make the 3 inch system for about $300 less.
what is the resonance like and what kind of mufflers did you use. I was only going to use one muffler on each side and straight pipe on the down side.

Swedich mufflers
I going to sell this system and building a new one with same design but with 2 mufflers to test out...

My buddy Heavychevy has some on his TT. I'm not sure if he has any sound clips or vids from it. It sounds insane on the road and the turbos sound so sweet. The cold starts can be a little scary lol.

yup, I thought of that as well just to save some money...
