It is difficult on pulls because the two cars are in different power bands. I definitely noticed my friends 996 sounded and seemed to spool a lot harded than my car spooled. We are not producing that much of a power difference show the drift box would be a better indicator. We plan to make 1/4 runs to get a better feel from a standstill.

Adam your right. I checked with Akram and he said if I get into max or overboost the extra will be dumped off.

Powell-Akram put my ebc in the console so I really can't monitor it at all and my dash seems to read that I just about always am in boost when slightly tapping throttle. Sounds like one of my next mods is to mount the ebc so I can see/use it easier.

Proto 650 996tt/AWE 750 997tt "rematch 1/4 mile"

Having found a pretty good idea about what the cars do on hwy pulls we new the next step would be to get to the 1/4. I took all of Drivexxtreme's advise and everyone else to get the spare and tools out and drop rear pressure. I still did not go below 30 hot. I working toward that. First run was the best for both of us and then they went down from there. It was about 70 degrees out.

I did 11.72@127.2 , my best time in this car both 1/4 and trap. Jnixon did 11.54@129 his best 1/4 and trap in his car. He came out of the gate a tad bit sooner with a slower reaction but slightly quicker 60ft. Funny thing is, he forgot to turn psm off and sport chrono on. We stayed on it way past the flags at the end and hence reached out best trap times. We agree that we had been getting off throttle to early in the past.

I did not feel right on any of my passes. Felt rushed for some reason, but I was happy to be getting better. For the remaining 3 passes I kept "bogging", I would rev up to 3-4k rpms and slip the clutch and the car would fall on its face? I guess that's what makes this so much fun. For me anyway, I always walk away with the feeling that "I can do better".

Kudo's to Jnixon! Looks like on a 1/4 his AWE 750 with modified turbos spools very quick indeed, whereas, the k24/18g as mentioned many times here will always "pull harder on top". Jon see you on I-10 my friend. He he.

Could not comment on the k24/26's don't know about them. I run Mich pilot sports 18" on stocker wheels. Jnixon is on his stock bridgestone 19's with champion wheels. Jnixon never touches the pressure on his tires at the track and laughs at me when I do.
