Need tire suggestions for 750-800 rwhp

Seriously, Iam very happy with how the PSS10, RWD, and R888s work togather for handling on the street. I dont do twistie tracks. At ~600 whp in RWD my 295/30 PS2s spun wildly in first, second, and part of third. Iam on stock wheels now but have experianced no rubbing with 315/30.

If you can get PS2s to hold your power I would use those. If not, R888s come in 295. If those dont hold, I would be surprised but then you could try the Nitto DRs.

I have 295 ps2 on now and its not holding...I'm going with your suggestion of 315/30 R888 regardless of what hre is telling me. It looks like it should be fine. Thanks for the info!!

Iam in the process of buying some 18in HREs now so I hope Iam right!!

I plan on blowing thru another set of cheap T1R 315 rears over this "winter" then wanna try either the R888 or a DR.. maybe the new Nitto NT05R that is coming out in the spring. That thing looks tasty!

Way too wide and too much tire for what you need. I could hook from 2nd gear rolls all day long with the 305 555Rs, and they weren't so wide that they rubbed. The 555Rs at 22 psi are all you need. Trust me.
If you want to run 19's, keep 2 sets of wheels. One set of blingy 19's with street tires...and another set of 18's with DRs.
That said, my 315/25/19 ContiSportContact3's at 32 psi hook really well at the 600+ rwhp level. Much better than I would have guessed.

For now i wanna stick with stock rims...What is the best tires??

Bigger, wider tires are heavier and cost more. Why run them if you don't need them? I run stock size Sumitomos on my HRE's and 305/35/18 Nitto DR's on my stock twists for spare.

Bigger/wider tires will also give better traction also...am i right??
#57
Depending on the compound and tire, yes Or it might just leave a bigger wider black mark on the road

As long as they don't rub, wider is typically better. The problem is that 315's tend to rub on TT's even with fender rolling The backspacing has to be just right.

I don't disagree, I just feel if you have the right tire (compound-wise) you don't need a bigger tire, as it is just more weight to spin, not a lot, but weight is your enemy if you wanna go fast.

I totally agree. I ran fairly narrow DRs that hooked all day long at over 800 rwhp.
