It wouldnt work. Window tint is applied the opposite way. (adhesive on wrong side) It's not made for exterior/elements. I believe there is an exterior film available. My friend's Murci's headlamps are "tinted" with a film i think.

the exterior tint film is pretty thick, I used it on my gallardo front & rear light lenses.. I think its too thick to work on the 996 taillights being they are not flat... plus much better job when its done with spray from a bodyshop.

film looks so bad, plus the light shown through is much dimmer, i tinted mine at my body shop and it took no time, the second post is spot on

I bought mine from Evoms. They told me it was a spray on tint. Looks great!

Rick,

We can provide the tinting service for you, PM me your shipping address and I will create a shipped quote to you...

The process consists of a base coat and clear coat combo with reduction. We can even do slight color matching if you wanted something other than the normal black tint color or hue etc...

Below is a recent tail light tinting job we did and it look much better in person. This was about 12 coats to get the look we were after.

As far as those spray tint in a can, stay away, more trouble than it is worth, been there done that...

Take it to your local paint shop. They can do it. Or take it to your local sticker shop and put a black film on there. I think lamin-x sells a kit too.

Here's my RRS tails with a slight tint (painted)

Here's my old m3 with the smoked tails (vinyl)

Been there, done that. The VHT looks OK but not great, you can tell it came out of a can. The best way is to base coat the lights (very reduced) anywhere from 10-14 layers to get it to where you want it then clear.

Don't go Smoked go RED/RED, both come off if you rub hard enough with solvent
