OFFICIAL OCT 08 TEXAS MILE Results thread!

Finally back home... 95 degrees in the sun in Texas on Sunday... come home to 35 and snow!
I edited together a quick video with what footage we were able to get of our runs over the weekend.

Marty... thanks for phoning in your spectatorship!
You're right... the gearing isn't ideal for record speeds, but it will do the job in getting this car to 200 in the mile... and who needs more than that in a street car? It would also be nice if we didn't have to make so many shifts during the run.

Marty (Woodster) did it last year, but IIRC he used a conservative tune vs. a race file.

I did not notice. But if you look at the March results sheet here:
http://www.texasmile.net/results/Mar...8_Results.html
You can draw some conclusions by looking at all the vette speeds. No way to tell what is stock or not.
With that I'd guess low 170's on a good run.

Thats about the same as me? I just have 18G's, injectors, mufflers and pump gas tune. Any idea on his MPH? Maybe he can chime in?

Marty's car made 628 rwhp. He's got Full Proto fuel and air intake system, Proto IC's, IPD 75mm plenum, not sure what else.

Gotcha. So basically my car would probably be in the high 170's, maybe low 180's?

My set-up for Tx Mile:
My car has K24/18g's, proto custom Y pipe with ford MAF,
997 throttle body, second fuel pump, proto fuel rails, large injectors,
BIG custom ProtoIntercoolers, Switzer headers and exhuast with NO cats,
Greddy boost controller and one other Very Important item:
All of it was installed and tuned by the Mad Professor; Todd Knighton in Arkansas.
I have run this car 19,000 miles in this config (car has total of 50,000 miles and really
runs fantastic on low boost (92 octane) or high boost Sunoco GT260 Plus.
I have never, ever seen more than 1.47 peak boost on my Greddy Boost Contoller.
I have had alot of fun with this set-up and on high boost and PSM off, this car is a serious moderate understeer transitioning to throttle contolled oversteer monster on
the road racing course. I do not have Proto's most agressive program in my car and I
keep threatening to do it but the car runs so damn well that I am not motivated to do it.
I ran 187 mph, 189, mph and 190.743 mph one year ago at the Texas Mile.
My goal in March 09 TX Mile is 193 mph.
Cheers,
MK
