RPM racing was able to find electrically operated, stainless steel exhaust switches , they plan on putting them after the cat, when closed it will divert the exhaust into the muffler (regular driving/sound), when open it will be a straight line out (crazy loud!!). We shouldn't have any issues especially when open and going straight out.
I'll keep you guys posted.

This all sounds very interesting. I love my EP II Q but when I'm at the track and there are all those straight pipes around, I would love to "flip a switch" and go LOUD. I got behind a GT-3 cup car at VIR and I could not hear my own RPM, just the cup car's hugely LOUD exhaust in front of me. I've heard of "resonance in the cabin" but not from someone else's exhaust in my cabin. Anyway, this sounds cool. Hey Ron, what about the comment by IA PorschePhd? I think I will send off a note to the EP guys and see if they have any modifications like switches in the works.

Ron, I spoke by email with Stef from EP. He tells me that they used Pierburg switches (same for Ferrari/CarreraPSE) and they work great until you put them on a TT and the heat is so intense that the valves would eventually fail and so EP stopped doing stuff like that for the TT. For F cars and NA P cars, they worked great.

RPM racing had the switches cutom made in stainless steel, they say it should handle the heat.
I'm sure Eric or Russ at RPM can give you better info: http://www.rpmracinginc.com/

this type of thing has been around for a long time. I believe you can buy a good electronic version from Jegs, just weld it in.
