100 octane in Kansas City?

I'm having a blast with my new Proto K24/18g kit. I could use a little help though. I haven't found any race gas in KC yet and I'm dying to try high boost. Does anyone know of a place to buy at least 100 octane in or around Kansas City? Thanks

biturboamg is infamous around these parts
I know you have a few shops in overland park, shawnee that work on performance cars start with them. If not try the drag strip on a race night. Being you have a 1/4 track there you have to have a trick or vp dealer. You could also get on the trick and vp websites and see who the dealers for your area are. Good luck.

Find a VP dealer, you can purchase it in 5gal pails. They're quite easy to store and transport, I normally keep 5-6 in my garage for when I need that race gas fix. I would suggest Street Blaze 103, or for some extra safety MS109 (unleaded/oxygenated).

Below is the VP distributor in your area, they should be able to put you in touch with a local retailer close to you.

VP-Heartland

Manhattan, Kansas
Phone: 785-539-2700
Fax: 785-539-3212
E-Mail: vpheartland@yahoo.com

Hey Havic, there is a small station in Mission that has 100 Octane, I believe they are still open. I'll try to find their name but they are right across the street from the Hobby Lobby and McDonalds on Johnson Drive.

Back in the day, when I was in KC, there was a place in Independence, MO, "Day Automotive Racing Engine Specialists", they used to sell VP by the 55 gal drum, Richard 'Huey' Anthony is the owner.

Aaron,

The gas station is at Johnson Drive and Deerborn accross from Deerborn Vet clinic. If you pull in there ou will see a single pump off in front of the office. That is the 100. There is no one else in town since we stopped selling it.

No, that was the last place I knew of. They removed their 100 tank about a month ago I guess. The only other place I have seen 100+ octane is out at the track (HPT) in topeka.

I've always seen it stocked- shipping explosive gas would be a challenge.

There are multiple websites that track dealers- Sunoco and VP racing fuels have sites that list their distributors... and there are a few enthusiast sites with threads listing regional locations. Since I live in CA, I keep a list of stations that have 100 at the pump across northern CA. You should do the same for your area.
