Price for race gas
Since the price of a barrel of oil is less than half of what it was 4 months ago the price of gas is down concommitantly.
However I was paying $12 a gallon for C 16 back then. I am paying 12 now.
Why?

2 reasons. Mainly storage related. You shop is likely buying the gas in bulk and keeping it around their shop for a bit of time.
Before you where likely buying gas that had been stored for some time after refining, so you where able to buy it at "old prices".
The same can be true about new gas, oil has just dropped sharply recently, it takes quite a while for it to get through the pipeline with speical use gasoline. Really what has likely happened is you bought the gas both times at "middle prices". I've seen C16 at $15-16 before and it's gone down a little bit as of late.

I was thinking that might be the reason, Wes.
So, then, in a couple more months we should see the prices reflect the current market.
What I will do, then is call the distributors. VP is one, anone else (Sunoco?).

PRI is early next month, after that I'd expect things to stabalize a bit more.....until Summer comes again, oil goes up and the process continues on.

3 months ago:
MS109 == $11 per gallon in a 54 drum delivered to my garage
1 month ago: (Slosso and I bought 10 drums of GT260 PLUS)
@ $8 per gallon.
Should be interesting now when the distributors repurchase from the "distilleries"

ari hit the nail on the head. Price rises overnight then takes 6 months to drop, and then only to 80% of where it was even though oil is actually below where it was at the low. You should tell the guy who was talking about pipeline delivery times and buying and storing quantities, that you expect the prices NOT to go up next time oil rips by 10/bbl in a day!
