Tire Sizing for 996tt. Toyo r 888 ?

Okay, looking to get some more meat on my wheels. I dont show available = 315/"35"/18 235/"45"/18 sizing

Would such fit ? I am thinking i should have a little more wall on my tire, the stock MPS Cup tires i am running are 295/30/18, 225/40/18

Thx

So there is no real need to try and get a larger sized tire wall then 30 and 40 ?

Don't mess with the diameters on a awd car.

OR just reduce the air pressure on back tires to 22psi. Michelin PS2's grip good on hot track too at this psi, not much difference in 60 foot. If you grip harder, then your clutch will go and axles with high torque.

NineNineSixTT is right! Don't change the tire size on an awd car. The FR & R diff are running together and if you change the overall diameter you can do serious damaged to your car.

Don't think he means strip... and I wouldn't recommend reducing the pressure to 22psi for these tires.

NineNineSix is correct in sizes

right i understand but you should be able to move the series of tire together, 295/30/18 225/40/18 stock , would like 315/35/18 235/45/18 but its not a common size out there

You would probably not want to get a taller tire wall even if the tire diameters were well matched. Taller wall creates more sidewall distortion in heavy cornering and raises the center of gravity in your car. the 245/40ZR18 would also be a good choice as there is only 0.2" difference in diameters with the 315 and that's an acceptable differential. Gives you a little wider tire patch also.

R888's don't come in the sizes you've listed. The sizes i've listed is your bet bet. Tire sizing isn't as simple as moving numbers up.

Nice, i will go with 315/30/18 245/40/18 i hope this will help a step in adding a touch more front grip ( i have corner balanced the car as well )

I've run the GT2 sizes (recommended in this thread) on the stock 996T wheels (11"/8") and everything works fine. I've tried varying one or the other, and the PSM and ABS begin having fits instantly. You'll know right away if the computers are not happy with the tire sizes.

I am currently using R888's:

Fronts = 245/40/18
Rears = 335/30/18

My last set of tires were RA1's in the same dimensions.
