RPI or Speedtech exhaust?
#31
I am also interested in both exhaust systems, namely the speedtech and RPi. Any more new input or comment. The former seems to produce more power gain, whereas the latter seems to sound better, correct me if i am wrong.
Thanks

If anyone in the Portland Oregon area would like to hear the Speedtech 70mm, I have one installed on my car.
Even with the rings the low frequency sound between idle and 2800 +/- rpm is not what I would call 'loud', it's just that low frequency sound waves are very difficult to attenuate and the sound can be heard from quite a distance in the lower rpm range. Point being it is not rice burner loud, but rather a deep sound that permeates the cabin in the normal driving around town rpm range as well every house in the neighborhood during warmup. My daughter says it sounds like a gigantic cat purring in the driveway.

Do you feel a signficant increase in hp as mentioned in their dyno test an increase of 40hp?

will have had both
I had an RPI exhaust that I sold to a fellow 6-speeder after 500 miles. Internal drone was, for me, too much. I had an 07' Audi RS4 w/ a Magnaflow exhaust wich had beautiful note, but 0.0 internal drone. Perhaps this is unrealistic, but this is what I'm after. I've ordered the 60mm from John at Speed-Tech, and will report back after installation if anyone's still interested...

I have a Speedtech 70MM w/ the steel silencer rings included that I'm going to be selling. I've loved the system and its performance, but I'm returning the car back to a more "stock-like" sound and appearance... I've got the system forsale in the forsale section to locals first, but if it doesn't sell in a week, I'll be opening it up to those out of the area (and reducing the price since I won't be able to do the instal for you out of towners!)!
