Question (not directed at you NM, but rather at anyone who knows): How much hp and tq is gained at the wheels for each additional .1 bar of boost? I suspect the gain varies considerably depending on such factors as the size of the turbos, octane, etc. That being said, what is the approximate hp/tq gain for:
1. K24 turbos (with upgraded internals) on 100 octane?
2. Stock K16 turbos?
I suspect that variances in boost may partially explain why ostensibly similar bolt-on mods produce noticeably different hp and tq figures. I spoke with a guy from Revo the other day who, at the owner’s request, purportedly generated 600 rwhp on a stock GT2 (in England) simply by tuning the ECU and cranking up the boost to 1.8 bar. Several other variables may explain some of these differences in ratings from one car to the other, including whether a 2w or 4w dyno was used, the make of the dyno, the temperature, humidity, altitude, etc etc etc.

I found the following quote from the first article particularly interesting:
"At the end of the day, arguing about exact horsepower numbers leaves you with nothing but a day wasted arguing. You can't race a dyno; what matters is how fast a car can get down the track. If it can run the number, then the amount of horsepower it took to get it there, or how the horsepower was measured, won't change the outcome of the race. Next time someone tries to bench race with horsepower numbers, ask for a timeslip. If he can't deliver, then cut the conversation short and move on. He's not really in the game anyway."

Ps: For the record, I’ve never dynoed my car, I have no idea how much hp my car generates, and I am not challenging anyone else's claims. I enjoy my car and my mods, and that’s all that matters to me.

You have no proof of your claims and, to be honest, it seems you are just spewing what your tuner, (a competitor), has told you.

My main problem with you is you are making allegations against a respected tuner that you have no experience with. You have already heard from several EVO customers on this thread that have invited you to check out their cars. EVO has offered you a tour ... I'll even pay for your flight if you can't afford the $100.00 plane fare.
Todd even flew up here to Denver to prep the local dealership and show them what he has done to my car so they can service it. Todd and the EVO crew have shown us all that they are ready to help at the drop of a dime and have been rewarded by many of us with our business.

Are you going to the shootout to win, or just hang out with the big dogs. If you are going to win then I'll bring a really big box of Kleenex for you. Personally, I just want to hang out.
