TX2K9 Official Information Thread
#200
OK, here's the deal, we've found a way to save the Road Racing portion of TX2K9! Thanks goes to Leslie Mitchell at MSR Houston who is very willing to work with us and does not want to lose our business. So, without further delay, here are the details:
1. You will get the same 2 hours of track time that you were promised.
2. We will NOT have paid instructors like we usually do and so I will be asking our ADVANCED drivers to act as instructors for a session or two. We will enforce passing zones in the Beginner class to keep the environment very controlled.
3. We will limit the number of paid drivers to 30. No more will be accepted.
4. The schedule for the day will change, but only slightly...see below:
7:00 am - gates open
8:00 am - mandatory drivers meeting
8:30 am to 9:00 am - advanced class on track
9:00 am to 9:30 am - beginner class on track
9:30 am to 10:00 am - advanced class on track
10:00 am to 10:30 am - beginner class on track
10:30 am to 11:00 am - advanced class on track
11:00 am to 11:30 am - beginner class on track
11:30 am to 12:00 pm - advanced class on track
12:00 pm to 12:30 pm - beginner class on track
12:30 pm to 1:00 pm - Time Attack Finals
We will be FINISHED at 1:00 pm and will conclude with a trophy presentation.
Thanks for being patient, and please let your friends know that we have 14 spots available as of 2/4/09. We MUST fill those spots and we will not accept any more than 30 this year.
Thanks!
Peter

One hour sessions, "Gentlemen, check your gas tanks!", this will be fun.

One of the reasons that we had to go to 1 hour sessions is b/c I will not have a person helping run the event. In the past we've paid a fortune to Ed Paez (who by the way was worth every penny) to run the event and to run it smoothly........this year, it's not in the budget, so I will be running the event myself and the less on track/off track/switching we have going on, the better off I'll be. Ben, that's another reason I need your help!

Peter, I'll check my vacation schedule and let you know very soon. I will also ask some qualified guys who might be up for a day off and some fun at the track to loan a hand with instruction.
