Another TT rear ended by a drunk...

I finished a nice dinner at Flemings with my wife and this accord slams us in the back. We didn't hear any tire skreach before impact. I'm guessing she was going 10 mph or so. She was probably slowing down to stop. Who knows. The license plate fell off and there is some visible paint cracking. It was dark. The cops cuffed her. Me and the misses are fine but I know this is going to be a PITA. Anyone know a good body shop?

Ouch! Sorry about that... but I am glad to hear that the misses is fine.

In terms of recommendations for a shop, the person doing my paint work and install of my TA bumper works for Westside Collision off of 290 and W. little york. I know he'll take care of the car for you in terms of painting for you. I'll ask him what he thinks of the body guys if you're interested.

Big thanks. I will take it over there. It's very close to my office too.

Todd,

I also know the office manager there. I'll talk to my paint guy (Jaime "Hi-Me") and have him talk to the manager (Chris) to let him know you are coming. If you want anything else painted (lower side sills, front lip, etc), let me know so Jaime can do it on the side for you for a fraction of what the shop charges.

Todd,

I'm sure you can prob work that into the job some how. I'm sure the shop charges a couple of extra time for cushion so you can bring it up with them and if they decline, let me know and I'll talk to my buddy.

Todd,
Very sorry to hear that. Glad you and your wife are ok. I know how you must feel about the car. I hope it gets sorted quickly.

Update

After closer inspection, the engine lid releases and open/closes just fine. The wing operates and the tail lights are working. The license plate lights are destroyed. Looks like the bumperettes took most of the load. I'm taking her to Edwin's recommendation tomorrow.

Sue everyone Todd, so sorry to hear about the wreck. Try and negotiate with the shop so they won't put a car fax report in. That will likely be your biggest problem from this wreck. Good thing you hadn't removed the rear bumper and bumperette's like I did. I don't know of anyone that could help. My buddy took his GT3 to Sudden Impact but don't think he was too happy. Sounds like Edwin has put you into good hands. Good luck, and let me know if I can help otherwise.

Todd, that's great news. I just called Jaime and talked to him. He said that when you get there, ask for Chris (maybe you should call before hand make sure he's there) and tell him you're Edwin's friend. Jaime is going to let Chris know that you are coming. I asked Jaime which body man he recommends and he said to ask for Luis b/c he's one of the best. In terms of having your sides and front painted, Jaime will ask Chris about it to see if he can hook you up so make sure to remind Chris when you see him about it.

Of course, if you get there and don't feel right about the shop or personnel, feel free to leave

Not trying to make this OT but Jaime is the one who custom molded my front and rear arden skirts and painted it...any my grill...and smoked my tails. He's got skills

He also painted my roof black on the lexus... in his garage

Haha... Jaime is the one that does all the paint work for Jason too (the guy with the vette)

Oh no! Sorry to hear this. Didn't you just get your car? Someone bumped me last month and I also need to find a good shop. I recommend that you stay away from Greenfields (1960 and Kuykendahl).

BTW, the reporting (that Carfax lists) is done by the insurance companies. I hope she has insurance...if not, your unisured motorist should cover you.

If you need a second quote, try Ferrari of Houston. Their body shop will accept any make, and their facility is State-of-the-Art. It won't be cheap, but it will be right.
