I never understand posts like yours. The car is heavily camo'd; how can you base an informed opinion on what the car looks like underneath?

I don't like it. I hope that isn't the case. If they are taking away the tear drop rear, then might as well go all the way and make it like the 1998 GT1, at least that is a work of art. Well, I'll never worry about buying one now.

It may just be a shell over the chassis for testing....who knows. I think the important thing is that the engine be dry sump-ish, pdk work with the turbo and perhaps handle "extra" hp....what if the PDK makes anything over 0.7 bar dangerous a la the current GTR issues.... Other spy pictures have had the engine look the same as the base NA cars in terms of the under-bumper....there was a long thread on that fact...I think the new block's characteristics are going to be the most important part of the car.
Is a crate engine still 35k or is it going to be 15k......and have RMS issues....

I agree, this is a very , very early test mule, heavy camo indeed, I'm sure the real thing will be a stunner. If the 997 model is any inducation, Porsche knows it's clientel likes wide hips, I would not be surprised if it ended up being a tad wider than the current 997tt. You cannot judge this new model based on these pics, that just wouldn't be fair!
