16G's vs 18G's in the real world...VIDS!!!

I thought this would be an interesting post for everyone contemplating 16G's vs 18G's. Here are a few Vids I found of some runs in...um.....Mexico, yeah Mexico. These cars are very similar in HP (within 25-30whp) and both AWD. I think it shows the comparable "spool-up" and the big-end power of the 18G. It also shows the awesome performance of the mighty little 16G turbo.

Good runs. I'm guessing both cars were running pump gas.....1.1bar?

Nice videos, good comparison. K24/18G is a great option with the best bang for the buck. K24/20G would be good also but I have no experience with them. I know they could produce some hefty power.

pump gas for both...1.1bar for the 16G car and 1.2bar for the 18G car.

I know people have posted excellent results with the 20G so far. I'm curious to hear the "long term" opinions, you know after some road time and some friendly competition. I think there might be a consensus that the 20G wheel works too hard in the K24 housing? Making "hot air"? I would like to see videos like these between the 18G and the 20G. Help me decide MY next mod.

I hear on the video labeled (2) that that 16g car in Mexico shifted from 3rd to 6th (hence fell flat on its face).
I also heard that the S4 puts down 500+ at the wheels.

How does one shift from 3rd to 6th on accident? That must be one sloppy gear box.

I thought that was this one or it didn't get recorded?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfLw8Fvlyhw

or did the S4 (with 2 people in it) flat out beat the 16G car?

I hear the 18G car was spinning like mad at 60mph.

Just funnin with ya, your car rocks...

That was the one where the K24/18g car immediately spun like mad and nearly went sideways on the highway with zero traction, so the K16/16g car let off to start over again.

Yours too man. It was a blast.
