Personally, as an EVO customer, I wouldn't want it any other way.

Is your Stage V having motor or body repair work done?

With all due respect, this has got to be one of the silliest challenges I've ever seen. Somewhere between Muhamar Kadafi's line in the sand and that knight in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" - the one who lost all his limbs and still wanted to fight.
We are just talking about an article in an enthusiast magazine right? Something that a few thousand people might read and go, "oh, these are some pretty cool cars"... with most also thinking "why would those guys spend so much money when they can't even use 750+ HP on the street". (Not that they're right, but that's what they'll say. ) I've written 30 some odd articles for enthusiast magazines in the past - and that's what they say about the crap I write!
In the scheme of things, this is but a speck on the timeline of world events for the brief period of time that the challenge occurs (and far less than a spec over intervals longer than a few hours). Can we get back to the really important things like... how to make our cars go even faster, look better, and fulfill our every desire!
Yours in speed,

Michael,
Today it is at S Car Go Racing. We had a leaking right rear shock. It is being replaced tonight. The Stage II N2O was tested today. The Stage III N2O should be dialed in sometime this morning (Maybe 2AM) and dyno tuned. The car will then be taken to the track and a certain suspension specialist will do his magic. If all goes well the transport will pick it up tomorrow evening and it will be off to Virginia City for the hill climb.
Monday it will be in Southern Calif. for a week with Todd at Protomotive, then I hope to meet MattLA and his 1.6 bar GIAC monster for a quick run. After that, back to the Bay Area where the car will be dialed in for Thunder Hill.

Todd@EVO,
You have had Dave's number for two or three weeks now, if you havn't called enough said. I believe you will find a featured article regarding the "cjv/ s car go" in the up coming December issue of Excellence. This has been about six months in the making. They might not have shared that with you either. I was told the shootout article was planned for the February, March or April issue.
I informed you over 45 days ago we could wait until the third week of September for you to give us a reply as to weather or not your Stage V would be available sometime after that date. The available track days are becoming limited. If I don't hear from you by September 22, I'll assume you are no longer interested.

racer63,
I almost missed your post.
What challenge? There is going to be five of six tuner cars. I believe the tuners will describe the make up of their cars. All the cars will then be run by Dave Colman and maybe another professional driver in a timed lap around Thunder Hill track, a timed quarter mile run at a Sacramento drag strip and then off to RPM Dyno shop to record the hp and torque output. I am assuming the drivers will input on what they liked about each car.

Todd@EVO,
There are three facilities that have to be coordinated for this event to take place. When we taked about 45 days ago, you said you could be ready by the third week of September. It will definitely happen sometime between September 27 and November 11. This will depend on all three facilities being available over 2-3 consecutative days.
I think racer63 is right. I am not ducking out but there is no need to be discuessing this over the forum. It is kind of silly. I will e-mail you by the 22nd. Anyone with any interest can find out who participated and what happened when the article is released.

Chad,
Will spectators still be allowed to attend? I know that several members here would not want to miss this event.
This is better than the build up for a title fight! Perhaps you should consider pay-per-view

Well, ok, about half your comments sound like they are in the spirit of competition, and that you might actually want to put together an interesting article about some cool cars. But, the other half of the time, it sounds more like the stuff you might hear on a night of World Championship Wrestling.
All kidding aside, in the parlance of my profession, your signal-to-noise ratio is high and the valuable information that you do have to communicate is getting lost in the transmission.

racer63,
Your assessment is correct. I was looking at it from the perspective of "old fashion competition" until my innocent open request to make a simple adjustment (remove boost limitation code) which is not related to afr, timing or ability of the turbo to make boost was rejected soley because of this shootout. From my point of view this jesture removed the event from "old fashion competition." I have always shared information and I have never asked any of the tuners to not perform work on any other car. As a matter of fact, others have come to them with requests to duplicate certain aspects of my car. I have always shared and cooperated to the best of my ability to help. Others obviously don't share the same attitude for whatever their reasons.
Redlinerobert,
I believe the shootout will be open to anyone who is interested in attending. There could be the standard admission cost for entering the track or strip as a spectator. The participants along with the dates will be posted soon.
I am going to leave it at the above until then. If anyone has any further questions regarding this matter I will be happy to answer them privately.

Alex,
Better yet, you line up directly in front of me. You can be the air draft until about the half way mark. When I flash the lights. move to the right as the afterburners will ignite a second later.
