If you drive 2 miles to work, put a milk crate in there if it looked cool. But for those like Mike that drive an hour to the office, the GT3 or any other bucket can be uncomfortable. I took my 996 to California a couple times and ran Gumball in it with the GT3 seats. My back KILLED. But for the handling, it was nicer then the bench sliders I had in my 996TT. I spent more time holding on the door panel.

I drive over an hour to work in GT3 seats (country roads) and they feel great to me - in fact, I prefer them to the OEM sport seats that came with the car. My wife prefers them, too.

I don't find the getting in and out any problem either (some have mentioned that to be an issue). The GT3 seats are very comfortable and look great - I'm very happy after two years of DD with them. And the fact that you can simply connect a 6-point harness at will and have the openings at the shoulders is a great plus. Keep the sub bar mounted under the seat and you are good to go.

I like the feel of the GT3 seats, but I don't like the lack of reclining which makes the space behind useless as luggage space, and there is a lot of space there to store small bags. Hence, I will not get non-reclining seats

That was one of the issues, especially when turning the car back to more of a street vehicle... I liked the "feel" of the GT3 seats, but didn't like losing the space.

My seats came in the car when I bought it, and they were already showing signs of wear. I think me tracking the car as much as I did, plus getting in and out of it in general, with my wider hips/waste/back/shoulders really helped accelerate the wear on them... So much so that the black on the leather was wearing down to the base material in a few small spots. Receipts show these seats were in the car from 2003 until two weeks ago... So they were used over 5+ years...

Haven't had time to install yet. I will post up some pics when I can get them in though.
No, the 993tt hardback seats live in that radical little monster you are familiar with, the Cobra's are going in the 996tt.

Rick, are those the std GT3's?

also, does anyone know who makes the lightest seats at a reasonable price. I had a friend who installed Sparcos in his viper years ago and he said they weighed 16lbs each.
