2002 996tt bose system have fiber optic wiring?
getting ready to upgrade my audio system in my 02 996tt. does the 02 model year have fiber optic wiring?

I believe fiber optic are start from 04. Mine is a 02 TT and I don't recall any fiber optic issue when I upgrade my system.

'03's came with the MOST Fiber Optic.

I was told that only the 2004 year is where they made a change but then Porsche reverted.

2003 and newer cars have the fiber optic MOST bus. I had to nix it when installing a nav system into my car.

Since you've got an '02, you're good to go!

Anyone ever stuff 5 1/4" drivers in the holes? How did you keep it looking nice? Can you mod the factory grills and make it work?

Yes! you need to get the right set, or the grills wont fit.
