I think you should look at the Diasio and the Stohr as well. There definitely is a comparison.

According to my experts, the Stohr is the best if you plan to race it. If you just plan to track it (my interest), the Diasio R looks real nice.

sounds like quite a few of us a thinking the same thing. why track a heavy street car when you can drive one of these. http://www.stohr.com these are faster than any GT3 Cup Car, around any track. Also, for about $50K to $55K, you get great horsepower to weight ratio, in a purpose built race car that is much less $ to maintain. the Radicals are ok but the Stohrs are faster. This year at the Runoffs, (Mid Ohio) the Stohrs are 2 seconds per lap faster in qualifying than the Radicals, in C or D class. The Formula Atlantics are running 1:19s and the Stohr CSR 1:21, with the fastest GT1 Corvette at 1:24.6. Basically these race cars are some of the fastest around ANY track. Mark Jaremko (driving a Stohr) was the SCCA Runoffs champion for 2002 and 2003 DSR class. see http://dsr.racer.net Talk about bang for your buck! If you are in the midwest, i heard that Sol from Perfect Power ( www.perfectpowerinc. com ) might be putting together a race series for these cars. The future looks bright.

Tim, gotcha, thx.

New guy, welcome to 6speed and thank you for the info senor. I knew the radical had serious game, but for the Stohrs to average 2 seconds faster is some badass schzit... too bad you can't make them street legal! jk

Parker,
thanks for the warm welcome. if you think these are fun, try a track bike on the same tracks. instant gratification, all the time. as fun as my TT is, my track bikes are the most fun per dollar of anything i know...
ColorChange, i too, want to run some track days.. Blackhawk, Road America, Chicago Autobahn, etc. i was told that Stohr will have a 2 seater by spring. Of course, we might do a little racing, who knows. if you are interested in a spec race series, call Sol at Perfect Power in Libertyville.

My friend has an SR3 Supersport with the 1400CC engine about 262 HP and ran a 219 flat at Sebring this weekend. He still is trying to dial in the car and feels that he can get to the 217's. Stuart Appleby (Golfer) was there and is a part time driver and he rented a SR3 with the 1500 and was also ran about 219.

Going down for a ride in a few weeks.. Should be awesome...

Drove two of them not too long ago at Summit Point in W.V. Great cars and a ton of fun to drive. You can see the east coast distributor at http://www.funktionauto.com/. I think he still has the two I drove for sale. They're powered by motorcycle engines which sounded friendly to me as I used to race Superbikes. I'm seriously considering getting a track car so I don't beat up the TT, but at this point I think I'm leaning towards an Ariel Atom 2(Honda Vtec powered).
