K24 & K24/18: Are they really different ?
#31
Hi Punisher,
the table you stated is a general one. There are different k24 compressor wheels available, like different k04 wheels. So this is just a guess but i think just the dimensions of the wheels show how much difference there is in the real world behing 18g and k24.
Roadsterdoc can you share some pics?
Thanks

I can tell you 100% that 18gs outflow a stock k24 all across the board... no matter who tunes it...

Ok, just to understand, i have never seen pictures of a K24/18 but it looks as a KKK compressor housing !
I thought it was a Mitsubishi compressor !

There are people here that machine the K24 housing to accommodate the Mitsu 18G wheel. This is a VERY popular setup here in the states. Great bang for the buck, especially if you already have K24's. About $1500 to upgrade including 1 bar wastegates, and then of course whatever your tuner charges for another tune.

Thank you ... i have seen al lot of people touched by this discussion but sometimes one person wants to know how things work (that's for me) !
Maybe if i say that i'm looking to upgrade my K24's and i don't want to buy something wrong my discussion is clearer for everyone

Go ahead and upgrade your K24 to k24/18g...The hot side(exhaust)remains the same but the 18g impeller is machined into cold(induction)side of kkk k24 turbo...You ll love it...It reaches the limits of the internal parts...
