Not sure anyone does this, but if you keep the stock cats and run straight pipes v. an x design system with 100 cell cats I would wager these systems will out flow them.

I'm not putting up thousands of dollars for some premade exhaust, there nice but not thousands of dollars nice. I'll post pics up once I figure out exactly the mufflers I'm going to use...at this point it looks like some 3" univeral mufflers would be the best choice, with 3" piping. Anyone know a good place to get the flanges for the turbo's from?

carnerd im not sure about stock cats ,and even then i find it a bit hard to beleive that they will get out flowed... but 100 or 200 cell cats and stright pipes , will out flow anything out there..

souneffects , use burns race mufflers , thats what i have a cutom full 3 in no cats . sounds great not much drone if any at all (which i was suprised) and the power is awesome.

Had B&B and Fab Speed, imo hands down Europipe far better.
You might want to check with Rhonda at FVD, they have some new exhaust they are selling.

To be clear about the 9ff Variotune system, it has 200 cell cats with straight pipes. There is a valve after each cat that can divert 100% of the flow through mufflers. So with the flip of a switch, you have the choice of straight pipes or a reasonable but agressive street sound. Best of both worlds.

Believe it or not, $4K exhaust prices were the norm until recently. Traditionally 996TT owners haven't had the time or interest to DIY but this is changing now that regular car guys are buying them.

TxGold had a cat/straight pipe system fabbed. PM him for his flange source.

If you want to use a single muffler, Dynamax makes a perfect sized crossflow design muffler with 3" inlet/outlets but it is not stainless. I only know this because Joe Swaffar successfully used it on his self designed system.

Joe, Markski and others have used the short Magnaflow cans right after the turbos which are stainless, fit well and flow great but will fit only if you delete the cats.

The Burns straight through "cherry bomb" torpedo style mufflers are beautiful and flow great but are best left for the master fabricator IMO.

Good luck, and please post your results, successful or not!

We have done some testing on very popular $4 to 5K exhaust systems and We choked them up at 650 rwhp... pure and simple...
So anyone that thinks they can run 200cell cats with 70mm piping and produce power above 600 rwhp wihtout any loss I will challenge you anytime...
100cell or bypass is a must and I would at least use 2.75 inch Diameter or even 3 inch on a 3076r turbi... been there done that...
Im not referring to anyone company just stating our tested facts...
markski

Europipe will make a 85mm exhaust system. The first was made for KA. A few others have been done since.

Does anyone have more information on the Dynomax Cross pipe that your talking about? I'm thinking that it might be kinda restrictive but would love to look up the specs on the muffler.
